It is thunderstorming right now. And the back wall of my house is protected by Tyvek Homewrap ONLY.
We took the paneling of the back of the house because it was rotted. We immediatly found out some of the studs were rotted, as was the bottomplate (or whatever its called). We replaced all that, and we didn't have time to put the new paneling on. All we got up was the Tyvek Homewrap, which is a moisture barrier along with a few other things. I hope it can protect the back of the house for 1 night...
I love storms though. I can sleep through them and then laugh at people when they complain "The storm kept me up all night" :D

are you worried out the back of drywall or the studs themselves?

those same thunderstorms flipped a table in my backyard, and in the process shattered the entire top of it which was glass. now we have thousands of little glass shards scattered across our patio and in our pool. that will make a fine cleanup.

Well we have the Tyvek homewrap up, which is supposed to be a moisture barrier. I doubt it's supposed to be exposed during rains though. We didn't have time to put up the paneling, so we just have to pray.

when we put speakers out by our pool, the idioit pool guys, barried all but one of the wires, so we had to get it through the house, it had a spot for one speaker, the second one we had to wire through all that area as well, pain in the butt, because the pool people couldnt do it right! oh well, thats nothing compared to your rebuilding a side of the house, thought id share our most 'extensive' house job we did ourselves

I worked with my bro-in-law over the summer. He owns his own company in Austin and does electrical work. I wired everything from in-ground-pools to a wall outlet at a display area for a $20,000 Bang and Olufson TV. (http://www.bang-olufsen.com/web2/systems/product.asp?section=systems&sub=tv&prodid=555) I think the TV is $20k, but I know those speakers(cone things) are $16,500 EACH. The TV can rotate towards the remote when you push a certain button. What a WASTE OF MONEY. It was cool to mess with during my off time. I have never been more scared in my life than the time I was working over that $20k TV

You have insurance though. I just saw on the news that the Tanger Outlets or w/e got hit hard.
I'm glad there wasn't hail here because it would go through the Tyvek and push the insulation and sheetrock into the house. That would be bad.

You should enjoy fooling around on this site then. Most of the stuff is updated by NASA within 6-7 minutes from space so it's pretty damn cool imo.
