Katy's ADS has gone down the last couple of weeks and will do so again this week. If the other team's offense averages less than your ADS - even holding them to zero points lowers your ADS.

Yup...hence the SOS component that factors in. It's not perfect though with the El Paso/Valley/other areas who don't play games, nor do their opponents opponents, outside of their areas.

We are currently putting the finishing touches on a system that adjusts for that and are hoping to have it ready for the playoffs. It takes into account every game in the last five years to further adjust/correct the numbers to hopefully produce a more accurate result between the different regions.

As far as the current system, as long as you know and understand it's shortcomings, there's still a lot of good information to be had from it.
