Of the Lewisville schools, I think Flower Mound has the best chance this year to make the playoffs. I also feel that Lewisville will be much improved over a year ago, and they have a great corp of young players coming into the varsity program. With 3 trips to Clark stadium, I think Lewisville will have to difficult of a road to get into the playoffs, I believe we have only won twice at Clark Stadium in our entire history of football, ironicaly both times we won at Clark we went on to win state titles (93&96). But FM will jump up on some people, Cody Vanderford is a very good football coach and is as good a offensive mind as their is in the state of Texas, he has some good talent at FM starting with his QB Nick Stephens, so out of all the schools in the LISD, I feel that FM has the best shot to make the playoffs, I also think that within a year, Lewisville will be among those schools competing for a playoff spot and crawling its way back up to repsectful form.

what about Marcus stepping up for the Lewsiville schools, read they return about 15 starters. Played some close games with Allen an PESH last yr.And have a qb already committed to Tulane. May suprise some also.

I think a lot of people are to high on Plano, sure they return a lot of starters, but its from a team who has won a combined 4 games the last 2 years, I realize that experience is crucial, but what have these guys done lately to warrant such high praise? plus they have to go to Allen this year and they have not beat PESH in a eternity nor have they beat PWSH in at least 2 years.
Marcus looks good on offense, but it has been defense that has given them problems the last few years. That program has lacked the passion that the teams from the early 90's worked so hard to build at Marcus. I dont think they will beat Lewisville or FMHS this year, and they have to go to Allen. In this district the big 2 remain PESH and Allen, and those teams will probably be one and done come playoff time. The 3rd and final playoff spot will most likely come down to a 3 way battle between FMHS, LHS and Plano. I like the chances of FMHS as I think they get both LHS and PSHS at home this year.

Farmer fan i dont kno what u are talkin about a lack of passion and defense obviously are passion and defense helped us defeat lewisville, and you have no idea what we have been through every morning and this off season as a team preparing for next season so you need to go somewhere talkin about lack of passion . And by the way did u forget that we had the 2nd leading defense in district.

Of course I voted for my alma matter
Allen
But, I think Plano is a solid team this year. I saw them at the Wylie 7on7 and they had some players. Damn good players. I also have seen the Plano West team at 7on7 and they do not have as athletic recievers as Plano does and their QB is not nearly as talented as the young man they had last year. Plano East seems to be declining, but hey at least there are four spots this year. (I notice no one likes to come to Allen :D )
I don't know much about the Lewisville schools. I sure hope one of them can give a plano school a run for their money, because I love a healthy competition. I think that some surprise team will show up in 8-5A and be a better team than anyone expected much like PWSH from last year.

does having more athletic receivers make them better downfield blockers? it better because unless they have a real epiphany on indepedence, there won't be much use for good receivers unless they block.

The lack of passion comment stems from watching Marcus football for a long time. If you play now, you are way to young to remember the likes of the David Ellen led defenses from 94-97, he had a passion that carried over to the next 10 on the field, and that led to some of the best defenses the DFW area and the state have ever seen. Trust me, being around the Marcus program for as long as I have, I know what goes on in it, I know how your people ran off Que Brittan, I know how the politics in and around Marcus have changed in the last 5+ years.
Also, im sure you have been lifting hard this summer, im sure you guys have the goal of winning district and winning state and every other goal that every other team has set. But what you do now and what you do in the 4th quarter are 2 different things, there have been times over the last 5+ years where Marcus has had some late game let downs, something that never happend under Coach Brittan. Also dont think your the only program that is going at it hard this summer, cause as hard as you say yoru working, I promise you the likes of Allen, Plano West, PESH, Plano, Flower Mound are working just as hard, all teams who beat you and put up large offensive numbers on the score board, in fact the only 2 games in district where you did not give up over 24 points came against Lewisville and The Colony, arguably the 2 worst offensive teams in the district. So dont tell me about having passion, dont tell me its there at Marcus, cause when comparing your teams now to the teams I saw play at Marcus, its a different ball game.

Of course I'm gonna go with my boys, The Allen Eagles. The District Championship is on its way back to it's rightful home, with the District powers all visiting Allen this year, the Eagles are going to retain their undefeated home record just like last year. Plano is going to be the main conteder for the DC and are going to give Allen a run for their money but a game in Eagle Stadium is going to tear the Wildcats apart. Plano West is on the decline this year as stated before, a rebuilding year for the wolves and I don't see their offense being able to keep them in the lead like last year. Plano East has a good secondary and thats about their team, their starting running back has already moved out leaving their offense lacking. My second choice for the contender goes to Flower Mound Marcus. Marcus returns a lot of experience and talent, if their defense can step it up, they'll be in the playoffs and shaking things up for the District race but Allen's Senior Night game is agian them and will prove to be the downfall for Marcus. Flower Mound is good but sits in either fourth or fifth in District and Lewisville and the Colony are just kind of there but don't ever count out a team in 5A football, they'll shock you if you do.
Again, Allen takes 8-5A and runs as far as they let themselves

I really miss the way the Lewisville and Marcus game use to be for the district champioship. Playing at Texas Stadium for all the marbles. Bring back those days.
