My early prediction is that..........
Dallas drafts Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska and turns him into a FS.
Houston makes a bigggggggggg reach on Phil Taylor NT from Baylor.

I'm hopin Dallas has the good sense to take Prince if he's there. The defensive backfield and the offensive line are where most of our trouble lies but 9 is too early for any oline prospect in this draft. The biggest reason I was against Dallas winning all those tight games was because it hurt our draft position. I really wanted to see Patrick Peterson here.
Think Houston will reach that big? I have yet to see him going in the first of any mocks. He should be there at the top of the second. If Wade has any sway I think they'll take Miller to pair with Williams and give them the push they so dearly need.

The wild card is Cam. Do we really think he'll be around at 8, 9 or 10? I say no way - I bet he goes 3,4 or 5.

Some of these so-called Dallas fans are screaming for the 'Boys to take a QB at 9. I almost kicked a dude in the chest at the convenience store this morning while we were talking football. Grade-A IDIOT! But, then again, a good number of our fellow so-called Dallas fans are.

Me thinks Buffalo will take him, and pair him with CJ Spiller.

If Von Miller is there at 11, something terrible has happened. I dont think there is anyway Miller would get past Arizona.
Phil Taylor MIGHT be there at the top of the second, but I could definately see Pittsburgh taking him at 31 to eventually replace Hampton.
If Im Houston...I really consider Julio Jones as well.

I think he's bound for Buffalo, personally. He's big, mobile and strong armed. Buffalo is going to tab him as their Big Ben believing he can excel in cold weather games and a subpar line.
With him it's all about how he does in the interviews. He has alot to answer for before anybody is going to make him the face of their franchise.

I know. I have the same reaction to that sentiment. The only way Dallas does anything with Newton at 9 is if someone is desperate to move up and select him. Then they'll trade down. Romo is not the issue is Dallas. He's a top 5-7 qb and it's a golden era for qb's right now.

Agree about Miller's availability but if he is there I don't think there's any doubt Houston takes him.
Ditto re your Pittsburgh thoughts. A small part of me is hoping he's there for Dallas in the second. I have been preaching about the impact a mammoth nt would have for our defense for several years now. That's not a knock of Ratliff. He's been great but imagine what his quickness and motor would do at end and he could still rotate down to the nose on 3 downs or in certain packages. I realize that means Dallas wouldn't be addressing the oline til the third. If they were to take Prince and Taylor, as far as I'm concerned, they could draft linemen in every remaining round.
I think Jones would be the perfect compliment to Johnson. I just think that organization finally believes that defense is their issue and thats the side they'll go with.

I'm huge on the Mock drafts. I consistently keep my own 4 round mock on Excel. Right now I have Dallas getting
1) Prince Amukamara - CB/S - Nebraska
2) Derek Sherrod - OT - Mississippi State
3) Marcus Cannon - OG - TCU
4) Kenrick Ellis - NT - Hampton

Why the heck would you turn Prince into a safety? He's easily the best cover corner in this draft.

????
Justin Blackmon says hello.
Prince is good..but not great. He reminds me of Malcolm Jenkins a few years back. Straight line speed is a big question. He's a natural ball hawk, but not aggressive as people would like at the line. He's a sucker for double moves...and bites on play action way to much. He got away with alot of it in college against less than stellar comp..but the NFL will be different.
I think he'd benefit a ton being moved to safety where he can keep the ball in front of him...see the play develop, and react accordingly.

No offense but Eli is all over the map and more turnover prone that Romo despite a better pedigree and more starts. He was being run out of town before the defense caught fire and won them a SB.
Ryan is a very good up and comer but ,for all you that look to grill Romo for his playoff record, Ryan is no better.
Schaub has yet to qualify for the playoffs. If the argument against Romo(all numbers and no results) is to be believed then Schaub is less than him.
Vick? I'll need to see it for more than a half season. He's come sooooo far, though.
Romo has a better won/loss record, a better qb rating and a better completion % than any of these folks.

I've heard both he and Peterson are projected as better safeties than corners.

As have I.
The problem with Peterson is that he will be drafted pretty high. Kind of hard to draft a safety that high...pay him corner money...then put him at safety.
IMO...Peterson will be given every opportunity to prove he is a CB and if it doesnt work out...it doesnt. Prince may fall to the teens and to teams that can afford to put him at safety.
Dallas for instance already has Newman and Jenkins at corner. They have the flexibility to put Prince at Safety.
As far as my mock goes for Dallas. I dont see why it couldnt happen. The first 3 picks anyhow. Ellis may go as high as the 2nd depending on this weekend. 330 lbs and built like bricks is what I here. Very strong kid.

I agree but, to a large extent, I think the stigma of drafting safeties high and paying them well is a thing of the past. In the last decade the game has changed and along with it the athlete. Having a game changer at safety can elevate a defense to an very special level as we see with
I'd like to see Prince come in as the free safety alongside a good, free agent pickup at strong safety. Dallas cannot afford to roll out the same type of safety play they did last season. Having Prince back there will make a difference and he can always get reps at corner to be available in an emergency.
I love your projected pickups for the oline. The offensive line is something that can be fixed relatively quickly and for a long time if you can hit on your draft picks. Unfortunately for us, Dallas is better at finding talent in the 7th round and after than it is at identifying and developing olinemen. It should have been fixed in 2009 when Dallas had 12 picks to work with. Instead, Jerry was broke as he put the finishing touches on the stadium. As a result he took the draft off, basically, selecting a class full of nobodies and call it our special teams/depth draft. Joke.

I can see Peterson for sure. He's BIIGGGG. As for Prince, I want to see him as a corner for the Boys. I just like seeing him there. If safety becomes a better NFL fit for him, then so be it. Just as long as hes in Dallas.
