I was reading the Miami Herald sports section today here in Cuba... Oopps, I meant Miami, Fl. Univ-Miami has started Spring football and there is an article about Kirby Freeman and how he is giving alot of thought about transferring out of the Univ-Miami and he states that the Univ-Tx is a place that he would probably transfer to.

Just thought ya'll would like to know that.

PS. Many people here in the Miami, Cuba area think that Freeman is better than Kyle Wright,,, but that Kyle Wright came in with so much "press clippings" that Coach Coker feels pressure to start him. Kind of like the Chris Simms days at Texas in my opinion.

I like Kirby, but I don't know if transferring to UT is gonna help him to much. He would have to sit out a year, and UT is getting a good one in Jevan Snead.

It is easy for fans to get upset at a coach, and qb disputes are among the trickiest to handle. I don't care how much pressure there is to start Wright, the pressure to win is far greater at UM. I hope Kirby gets his shot.

I hope Freeman gets a shot also. I think he would be great at UM. He is also a very nice young man. I got to talk to him some last year after the Spring game.

He made it sound (from reading the article) that Texas would be #1 on he's list. But, that their was other schools on the "possible" transfer list. I think it even mention D-1AA wasnt out of the question.

But.. It think if he got a "legit" chance at UM he would excell.

Maybe the Hurricanes are getting Freeman ready for a great season or two -- at Abilene Christian. :)

I feel bad for the kid, but he made his choice. It came down to Miami and Texas for him if I recall and he chose wrong. At Texas, he would be a lock for the starting job and he would be a great fit for the offense.

The thing about Kirby is that he has already redshirted. He would have to sit out for a year and then he would only have two years of eligibility left. He could go Div. 1-AA and he wouldn't have to sit out at all.

Ya.. I read in the paper that he isnt considering D-1AA anymore. It's D-1A or nothing. He also back-offed the transfer talk somewhat. He is now saying that he is 100% a UM Hurricane. But, the underlying theme is he isnt happy playing second fiddle and that if he doesnt feel like he is going to get much playing time this season he is "OUT."

Let me preface this by saying that I hate Thug U. more than maybe any other college program around. If they were forever banned from colligate athletics, I would laugh uncontrollably for weeks.

That being said, the Thug U coaches are absolute fools for not starting Kirby. He is the best QB they have and the fact that he is riding the bench is further testament to the fact that Larry Coker is in fact clueless and rode Butch Davis' coat tails to a NC.

Ya.. I was at last seasons Spring game and Kirby Freeman held he's own and he had to play with the 2nd string offense against the UM 1st Team defense.

I do think that if Freeman had the fulltime "keys" to the offense he would be very good. I do think he is hands down a better "athlete" then Kyle Wright.
