Can anybody tell me the coaching lineage at either of the following three schools: Trinity, New Braunfels, La Marque? Some of the names are easy, but dates and names that are not as easy to recall would help. I am doing some research and figured someone on here would be up on who coached these schools through the good and bad years.

Here is a little help on LaMarque.

Another suggestion is to contact the athletic departments at each of the schools and explain why you want the information and they should be more than happy to assist you.

Trinity opened in 1968 and had it's first graduating class in 1970.

Bill Bookout 1968-1975
John Reddell 1976-1992
Ed Hickman 1993-1999
Steve Lineweaver 2000-?

I am studying what make up each of these programs have had (along with several others) that make them so good. I am sure everyone will say athletes but I know that there are a lot of schools that have athletes that are not as consistent as La Marque and Trinity. Lake Travis, Aledo, Stephenville, South Lake Carroll were not always the most athletic teams when they stepped on the field, but they get the job done year in and year out. What is the common denominator? I think it is a fun study, so thank you for that information. I did not realize that Trinity has only had 4 head coaches, that is neat.

I'm no expert, but Jesuit played Trinity in district twice and I've followed them prior and since. IMO, they have a very good coach. And, they benefit from having a great mixture of white kids, African-American kids, and Tongan kids. The last is what really helps them. According to Trinity coaches, a population of Tongans moved close to the school many years ago when DFW Airport was looking for workers. And, many Tongan families settled near Trinity HS. When you look at their roster, they have many Tongan players starting and starring. Add to that mix the talented white and black kids, and a good coach can build a traditional power, which Coach Lineweaver has done. Trinity is a very diverse school, and that has really helped with football. The other sports have not benefited as much, though.

Ed Hickman was coach the 1992 season and went to state that year. 1992 was Hickman's first year at Trinity.

I could be wrong but I don't think so - I have CRS so it's difficult for me to remember.

Typo. 1992 is correct.

Has more to do with the personality than the record. I still cannot believe he was picked over Lineweaver back then.
