No doubt he will follow through with this...only question is...how many idiots will show up to watch a game from the parking lot.

Eh, I don't see the problem with it. If people will buy tickets to do something, there's nothing wrong with taking their money. Party will probably be better out there than in the stajum anyway.

I say, why stop counting attendance at people watching outside? Anyone who drives by the stadium in a car, flies over Dallas in an airplane or had to pay the half-cent sales tax that helped fund Arlington's chunk of the stadium cost should count too.
THIS!!! :notworthy:notworthy:notworthy
While it would be cool to go to the game and actually sit in the stands to say I went to the Super Bowl... once. I prefer watching NFL games from the comfort of my couch. The crowds aren't as bad, traffic getting home is much better, and the beer's A LOT cheaper!!
No way I'd pay to watch a game from a parking lot!

Jason might get us to the SB then. I'm joking - I don't wish ill on the man, he's not the worst owner, but he can see the top spot easily.

I have mixed emotions about Jerry. I think he's a good/great owner but, a terrible general manager.

I really don't understand why this is a question, except including the number in the attendance figures.
Outside watching parties aren't new or unique. I went to one at Victory Plaza to see the USA-England match. They didn't charge, but did sell refreshments/etc. I imagine the location right next to the stadium would be through security. Big screens, why not charge some for what people would be doing anyway?
Closest most people can get to the Super Bowl.

People are stupid if they do that. I went to the Cowboys-Saints game on Thanksgiving and it was hell getting out of there after the game. Why would people want to go through all of that just to watch outside on a screen? No thanks, I'll be at a friends house. :)

Holy $!@+...I was thinking more along the line of $50
Ok, now I'm convinced of the idiots that will pay $200 to drive to a congested parking lot to watch TV...only to have to deal with the madhouse afterwards...yeah, that's definitely worth 2 Benjamins.

Thread title is waaaaay off. Jerry can go completely below whatever you believe is his ULTIMATE low and still be in free fall.
His ultimate low has no limits.
However, the ultimate of stupidity is yet to be determined. If a single person buys a ticket to this charade, they should be committed to an insane asylum without delay and with no chance of parole.

I'm sure there will be more to do there than sit on a bench and watch the game on the screen. It'll probably be a pretty cool scene and I would probably pay $200 to be at a super bowl party...at the super bowl...while the super bowl is happening.
Still can't figure out how this makes Jerry evil. He sells what people are willing to buy. He charges what people are willing to pay. What's wrong with that?

Oh, Jerry is indeed smart and can make money. I never meant to imply otherwise.
My contention is that to go out there and shell out $200 plus parking and also have to pay for overpriced concessions just to stand around in the parking lot and not be allowed in the stadium is insanity. I just cannot understand what anyone would get out of it. To each his own I guess....

I consider Jerry to be a pimp! It's not an easy job but, somebody has to do it. As much as I can't stand him as a general manager, I must say that if he went to the Player's Ball, he might win it multiple times.

Well, Jerry Jones does sell the $200 Super Bowl experience well on 1310 the Ticket. He isn't stopping there. He's even got some plans to try to utilize The Rangers Ballpark.

It was my understanding that the NFL Offices (probably via the vote of ALL the owners) set all ticket prices. Heard on DFW radio that tickets for the Plaza party would only be sold in sets of 4 to those who have season tickets...club level and weren't eligible to purchase SB tickets. As for Jerry gouging people...how 'bout the ticket brokers? Heard on the news tonight that 1 (one) 50 yd line ticket was listed on one site for almost $17,000.00!! Now THOSE are the idiots...the people who will pay THAT! jmho : )

Well, since its now reported that all 5000 stand around tickets are sold its another cool million to add to the coffers.
They should set up tents at the ballpark and sell those for $100. Could probably do $50 at Pennington and in the ever widening radius get about a buck by the time you reach the Tioga tents. Of course, their entertainment package wouldn't be near so elaborate.
