Kubiak being fired will just take the Texans that much longer to reach the playoffs. It is idiotic to think Kubiak is the source of the problems in Houston. Gary Kubiak is an offensive and play calling genius. However, the defense is giving up gobs and gobs of yardage and points. This is what needs change! The Texans need a new general manager, special teams coach, and defensive coordinator. Kubiak leaving will just make things worse.
The Texans need a great defensive coach and a veteran CB to come in and change this young secondary. LBs could use work, but with Ryans back next year they should have solid leadership.

I hear there is a Defensive Coach available in the DFW area...plenty of Pro experience, family ties to previous Houston team's Coach...:)

Sarcasm....right? That was ungenius offensive play calling in the OT loss. The half back option from the 5 yd line? You sure have lowered the bar on the term genius.
Anyway, McNair gave Kubiak a break by saying he thinks the team is moving in a positive direction last Thursday. You will probably only see house cleaning in the ranks of the defensive coaches.

Ungenius!? The guy put together 99 and 95 yd drives back to back and then you criticize him because of one OT drive where Jacoby Jones falls on his route and Kevin Walter watches the defender walk into the end zone!?!?
I would have liked to see a run or two, but I can understand why Kubiak went through the air on that final drive. The Ravens defense hadn't stopped it the last 200 yds!

And since the Ravens were tired they were ripe for being RIPPED from a running attack. You're asking for disaster when throwing the ball from inside your endzone.
When it REALLY counts during game time when the team needs him he's a FAIL. Maybe his short comings on offense could be offset by a good defense? Since his offense has to be on the field a lot and hurry up and score there are more opportunities for mistakes. Also, since he is the HEAD coach he should take the blame for the lack of defense that is displayed.
On another Texan subject....Who should they draft or pick up as free agents? How about they pick up some good players that have leadership qualities? This team needs some leadership from the ranks of the players.

One thing for sure, Kubiak needs to quit throwing those interceptions:rolleyes:
It never happens this way, but.....................
Bring in Grooden as HC. Demote Kubiak to OC, IF Kubs is prepared to do that.
It can happen.
One thing for sure, Kubiak needs to quit throwing those interceptions:rolleyes:
No....he needs to stop calling pass plays when you have the worst Defense in the NFL and the best rusher in the NFL. This is a guy that hides his face on big plays and FG attempts.....team is a reflection of the coach. The entire organization is crazy.....you bring in a guy with NO head coaching experince and give him the power to bring "His" guys......GM and all.
Texans has pulled the wool over our eyes for too long. At first, we were just HAPPY to have a team after the Oilers left and we beleive anything they said....like "David Carr is the QB to lead this team.....".....now it's "Kubiack is taking us in the right direction"....the honeymoon is over....time for results.
8 of the last 10 #1 picks were defensive players....yet the team is on course to have the worst defense in the HISTORY of the NFL.....the talent is here.

You're ALREADY in FG range...a FG wins it. less than 2 mins...RUN the ball, eat clock and get the win.
Throw the ball......use less clock...even if you DO score...you put the WORST Defense in HISTORY...back on the field........and they have shown on more than ONE occasion...that any time on the clock is TOO much.
WHY throw it? A FG wins it
But I do understand that you will stand by your fellow Aggie no matter what........but the guy sucks.

When the owner sits down with the coaches he HAS to ask them how THEY feel the team has progressed. Now it's Kubiak's burden to tell McNair, "Well, the last 3 years our record is 8-8, 8-8 and currently 5-10." Now I know our defense isn't up to par...(McNair interrupts) "Uh Hummmmm, Your defense is on track to be the worst EVER in NFL history." Kubiak retorts, "But I run the offense," McNair replies, "But you brought in the defensive coaches and asked me to buy you these defensive players?"
Kubiak nervously replies, "But I'm an offensive genius." McNair responds, "Then it doesn't take a genius to understand he's being fired. Correct?" Kubiak, "I want my Mommy."

whoa, back the truck up.......I have no affection for Kubiak and never have. You hindsight coaches are amazing. His offense has been great all year, it was his defensive coordinator and injuries that let them down.

That's why you use the leagues leading rusher and keep that horrible Defense OFF the field.

Yea and you stop passing and the defenses put 9 in the box and all of a sudden you no longer have the leagues leading rusher. You can play Foster just like they did with Earl Campbell and get the same result. A short career and an often injured player. It amazes me how short peoples memories are. I think there should have been a change at defensive coordinator in the first part of the season and that alone should get Kubiak fired for not doing that. To burn out Foster this year would have been a mistake. If Houston would have made the playoffs do you think they could have won a playoff game with that defense?

So, he's not a good head coach.
He's a nice guy and garners a lot respect around the league. He's a nice looking man and looks like the guy you need representing the organization. He is NOT a good head coach. The team is 5-10 after two 8-8 seasons. THIS is NOT progress nor is does it show any inclination of the team moving in a positive direction.

The Texans offense is a very solid unit.....when it wants to be. All they need is the "proper" motivation. For them to come out at the beginning of the season and put it to the Colts 34-24 shows that they have what it takes to win. They just need someone at the helm that can drive that winning spirit each and every week. Kubiak doesn't appear to be a "motivator" as much as he is a "thinker", and often times i see him as being more of the quiet..monotone type. Not what i would call "authoritative" characteristics it takes to be an effective leader. These guys need that authoritative respect..someone driven that has command presence. That is not Kubiak. He's a good strategist offensively and would be the perfect OC, but to head a "championship team"...Notta!
Wade Phillips carries a lot of knowledge, but his age concerns me. He seems to carry himself as if he's satisfied with past accomplishments with no real dreams to repeat them. Maybe being a part of a Houston franchise like his dad was may change that...who knows. Quite literally though, the Texans suck defensively. Maybe too much of a mouth full for Phillips to swallow and alas go out contributing to failure.. He's probably thinking that with Kubiak at the helm,.. "Do i really want to do this?"
