26-5a dominated two years in a row for sure on 25-5a. Just remember CJ ended up winning 21-0 but it was 7-0 most of the way! If Seguin would have had some offense Judson might not have played in the title game this year!

True, but Judsons smash mouth ball wore the Mats down in the 4th. That was a pretty physical game.

Look, I'm one who thinks Seguin has a shot at winning thier district but.......I also think that thier offense was below average and if they can become an above average offense team, that would be good. To say they are going to become a very very good offense team is stretching it a bit.

According to the KT's, they have a good RB and a good WR. Maybe the offense is better, but that doesn't tell me very very good yet.

Our all state cornernback, Desmond Jackson, is playing both ways for us next year. He will be playing corner and qaurterback. He is 6'1-190 lbs and probably the best athlete in the area coming into his Senior year.... maybe the best overall player (Minus Fanuzzi, maybe... who knows with the injuries) returning in the SA area. The kid is as fast and athletic as anyone I have seen... think James Henry type sprinting speed but I think he has more shifty-ness. I don't know how he will run the quarterback and the offense but I know he can throw hard, far, and accurate (pick up games) and with his athletism I know he will be able to make plays on his legs.
At Running back we are returning a 1,000 yard rusher. He has a pretty nice year last year and the extra year of experience and practice will only make him better.
Reciever is the posistion that really has me excited this year. Calvin Caad is our returning big time reciever, he had 10 td catches last year and is very fast and athletic with good size at 6'1 175. We have another big reciever named Dexter... he is 6'4... not a lot of speed but he is big with nice hands and can go up and get the ball. The huge addition we add is Michael Martin. He is our standout basketball player who gave up football after his freshman year to play basketball.... he recently decided to play football again and the guy is 6'6 210 with sprinters speed and very good jumping ability (see below link). He used to make a ton of great catches as a freshman and has always had good hands and cordonation. http://sasports.com/images/variouspics/seguinmartin.jpg This is a picture of him dunking as a sophmore two years ago... imagine this on the football field.

Outstanding... the Seguin-Madison game should be a good one. Seguin and NB is one of those games that is always worth going to with all of the festives surrounding the oldest on-going rivalry in Texas. Seguin-Westlake, in my opinion, will be for the district crown.

I think Seguin has respect from 265a. You just won't get the kind of respect you want until Seguin beats one of the 265a teams in the playoffs. It's no different then MacArthur. They earned some respect last year by proving they were a better team and beating some playoff teams (Clark, Boerne who dismantled O'Conner) but not the respect they would like because they still couldn't get over the hump and beat the playoff bound teams. Once Seguin and Mac do that, they will get all the respect that is deserved. Until then, both schools need to continue to get better.

Indeed. I am pretty excited for the upcoming year and the new look offense. I don't know how good the O-line will be but we are returning a few guys and the O line, through the Coach Carson years, has been consistently good in pass protection. If pass protection breaks down it will be nice to have a great athlete in the backfield who can tuck it in and run next year. We haven't had maulers who can blow you off the line and run the ball 40 times a game but I like a couple of the O-linemen coming back... a few of them have some good size (much better than we have had in the past).

Ouch. At least you get that game out of the way early. Maybe you catch a young Smithson Valley team before they hit their stride late in the season and grab a win that could help you get into the playoffs.
I don't like the fact that we open up the season on a Thursday night at the dome. I don't think any of our kids have ever played in the dome. That is the opening game of the year. It is on a Thursday night... I am not sure we are the kind of team that can get the right mindset for the first game of the year on a school night. I would have been much happier with a Friday night game.
After that we got NB at home and I think we will hammer them but who knows... anything can happen in a rivalry.
I still haven't figured out who our third non-conference game is... SHS do you know? I doubt it is anyone good becuase it was a last second add. I heard it was a Houston school but can't confirm that. I heard we would have to travel to Houston to play it too... that would suck.
