Good riddance

This week was the first week that the Cowboys had practiced in full pads since training camp. Training camp ended in July, and it's November!

With that said, NO! I don't feel sorry for Wade.

I feel sorry for him just a little. He seems like a nice enough guy but his style just isn't suited for the bright lights of Big D.. just wasn't a good fit.

I never thought he was the coach to get it done when he was hired. I think that is shown by the fact the team never has practiced in pads since training camp. It fully explains why this team is so soft.

I do feel sorry for him in that anyone who accepts the HC position under the Jones regime is guaranteed to fail. The ego of Jones and the circus he has created cannot be underestimated in terms of how screwed up this franchise is.

I'd say that if Jimmy had tried to coach now, instead of at the beginning when actual football people were decision making, he would have been a failure also and not even sniffed a Super Bowl.

Wade probably threw a party the day he was fired. Working for Jerry Jones is would be a living hell.

Probably because Jerry told Wade he could not. Remember Wade had nothing to do with the offense it is all Jason and Jerry. So do not expect it to get any better. No matter what coach they bring in they will still have the same GM. Just play Steven McGee lets see what he can do.

Does anyone think Jerry gave everyone an extra million to tank the season so he had a reason to fire that fat ***????

im with you Dawg Fan. And i think the difference speaks for itself. His carebear way of coaching had NO ONE on this team responding and that is NOBODY elses fault but his own. And its not only what you see, but what you didnt see. Where were all the penalites? It was about being on your game, focused, and ready to play as a team. We'll see if this was a fluke game or the real deal (unfortuanly a few weeks too late to make a real difference) but either way sending Wade packing was the right move. And I dont like to push on someone when their down and just lost their job, but if you make over a million dollars a year (and still do a crappy job) then I get a waiver.

As I said in another thread, all I'm looking for from here on out, is a complete effort. They stopped giving an effort altogether when Tony got hurt. I don't know if Garrett is the solution because, quite frankly, he was a big part of the problem due to his bad play calling.

I know that Wade had nothing to do with the offense but, he did have something to do with the defense and, they were almost equally non existant.

You think Jerry told Wade not to practice in full pads for 4 months?

What I am sorry for, with regards to this situation, is the fact that because Jerry is Jerry we wasted 3.5 years of this team's prime years. That is incredibly cavalier since the career of a pro football player, on average, is about the same. It didn't matter during the Gailey and Campo years. We had no talent and no money. During the Parcells years we had talent but it was far too young, as it was being acquired constantly. Parcells stepped aside and left us in a very good position. Jerry hired Wade so he could run his own show and now the team is near four years older with nothing to show for it.

I do not feel sorry for Wade, in the least. He was paid very well to do a job. The team ultimately stagnated because there was no sense of urgency coming from their leadership. Everyone got cozy and, in the NFL, that gets you beat.

Who should be sorry, though, is the players. This group did not give Wade one effort this year that resembled what they did yesterday. The professed to love him and then laid down on him. That is the most unexcusable part of this whole stink, imo. A half week of practice results in a team that lost by 38 on the road to a 13 point win on the road? I dont care in Lombardi himself held those practices, the coach didn't account for that sort of difference, not with the same players playing the games.

Jerry didn't dictate whether or not they were in pads but he screwed Wade plenty this season. Having a training camp that lasts a full 2 weeks longer than everyone elses and is held in 4 different places so you can market the team and make a buck is inexcusable. Jerry took the sideshow to a new level with that. Then forcing the team to practice at the stadium while tours are being given, essentially taking a day of field prep away from them? Wow.

I don't see how smart it is to try and "salvage" the season. We aint makin the playoffs, so quit dickin around and dropping lower in the draft lol

I think Jerry does not want to take a chance of his $$ players getting hurt.

I'm 100% with you on this. Play hard, improve, evaluate some talent but let's no see any winning streaks. Even if Dallas won out they'd be assured of nothing, not even a wild card. All winning does is give Jerry reason to keep Garrett and diminishes draft position. We need those picks and we need Jerry to be hissed off and embarassed by a 3-4 win season.
