The potential exceptional unit for SLC could be Riley Dodge (QB) & Tre Newton (RB). I feel sure the all new OL & Receivers will have something to do with that.

SLCDRGN,

Dodge and Newton...great bloodlines and both are juniors. I'm sure Coach Dodge will find 3-5 WRs that will run precision routes and catch everything thrown to them.

I remember when Todd Dodge and Brent Duhon were the best QB and WR in Texas high school football. Their numbers are pale compared to what Dodge is doing as a coach.

A&M Consols LBs have to be considered as one of the top LB units.

Linebackers:
SLB Dudley is a returning unanimous 1st Team All-District Player
MLB CJ Parish is a returning unamimous 1st Team All-District Player
WLB Hanks is the #1 overall athlete on the entire A&M Consol football team
OLB Kroll has a nose for the ball & brings “it” when he gets there.
All four LBs will play on Saturdays.

Consol ought to have an outstanding receiving corp.

Detron Lewis,
Caleb Carter,
Jordan Slaughter
Randall Williams

All returning Varsity Letterman.
There's an upcoming Jr-to-be named Wes Schill. The guy has hands of glue. He's going to have to really work hard to break into that foursome above.

Backfield...

Two returning QB's that both started, Kyle Gideon and Chris Jones, plus suprise from JV last year jr-to-be Dominic Preston.

Running backs....
Daniel Palmer
JJ McMurray
Cleavon Jackson

All got serious playing time. All are fast and tough as nails.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's all about the o-line this next year. If they pull together like they always do, this will be one heck of an offense to try to stop. Balanced as all get-out.

newton and dodge will be very dangerous. should combine for 2,000+ yards on the ground.

I agree. I don't know why they wouldn't.

Leander "SHOULD" have potentially its best secondary in recent years. Every single starter is returning. Chad Cannon and Ram Rodriguez were both 2nd team all district at corner and started the entire season last year (although Copperas Cove's wr's burned them all night) and Aaron Redman at Saftey also started from district play until our final lose. And at the other saftey position Blake Gideon (coaches son, will be a junior this year) started at the begginning of the year and was absolutely tearing it up as a sophomore with bone jarring hits and solid coverage (although he may need a position switch because hes getting a little on the heavier side). He ended up having a big time back injury that kept him out the 2nd half of the season and baseball. He was replaced by Josh McKinnley and he ended up getting 1st team all district with 4 ints in 6 games as a starter. Should be the strongest unit of our team.

I would not trade the four A&M Consol WRs mentioned above by AMC Dad for any other unit in Texas...don't know if their the #1 group in the State, but I do know they are exceptionally talented and have a sense of "team" about them.
