I think Desmond Jackson (cb) and Marcus Richardson (MLB) from my Seguin Matadors should be preseason considerations for all state. Desmond made this years 5atexasfootball all state team and is returning. Marcus got honerable mention on a couple of all state teams. Both are the only two returning first team all defensive players returning from the SA Express News all area team.

Trinity will have Jordan Scoggins TE, and Mao Leota. Scoggins is # 40 and is a terror, wish they threw to him more. Leota is 6'3 250 and a complete DE or DT. He runs the 40 just a shade under 5 and may be in the backfield too!!! He'll be JR this year and Scoggins will be SR. Lots of college scouts been hanging around ET.:D :D :D

The following A&M Consol players should get preseason all-state consideration:
WR Detron Lewis
K/P Matt Szymanski
LB Drew Dudley
LB CJ Parish

Lewis and Szymanski received some all-state honors as juniors...Dudley and Parish are two of the best defensive players in the state.

Detron Lewis (A&M Consol) and Jack Freeman (Cy Falls) were two of the best all purpose players I saw all of last year. Those two are pre-season all state locks.

Remember how you and I were just shaking our heads when we watched Woods against Westfield at Tully? If they get some receivers like they had two years ago, they'll be scary on offense.

The stats dont tell the full story...You had to have been there. Westfield's defense wasnt bad but at times it Looked like Vince Young against Louisiana-Lafeyette at times when he got out of the pocket.

We both were like "WOW" this kid is good.

Woods was as good of an athlete as I saw all of last year. He surprised me against Westfield.

I was suprised also..Their defense was good(strength of schedule wasnt that hot), but you're right, if they have some WR's this year they could sneek up on somebody in the playoffs. I look for them to ease through district as always. I think their RB's were sophmores last year also.

Lamar also have DE Chris Howdeshell (6'4 225) and DB Dion Johnson (Jr. to be) who will have a case for pre-season all state consideration.

Coach Nolen is a great coach...and Like I said, only Katy has more wins since 1986 than Lamar and Lamar is usally 1 or 2 and out in the playoffs.

I remember looking at those Huge DE's against Westfield...I think #94 or #99 was one of them..
