I was wondering.....how did everyone come across this board?

I'm from the old board. I was looking for info on Texas HS Football back in August 2004 and was doing some searches looking for a score prediction site that I had been looking at since 2002 that I couldn't find anymore. Found out the guy got tired of doing the deal, so he quit. That led me to Jerry's site where I get most of my predicitons stuff to this day. In the process of finding Jerry's, I saw a few other boards. This was the one that really caught my eye, of all the ones I tried, and I've been with it since then, through crash and all.

Sitting around at school one Friday waiting for the game.... trying to do some research and I googled 5a Texas HS football.. there it was. I read the board for over a year before I started posting.

Well, I'll do my story. I was on another board where Texas headliner was on. We began talking a little and he told me about this site. I checked on it every now and then and eventually started reading more and more and a few months after I started looking at it, I joined.

When I was looking for information for only 5A, I was lucky to type in "5atexasfootball.com" to see if I get it right and I did so I looked around the site. And then, I saw Message Board which really I was looking for because thats where most information and argument are.

I got her via Google! I had been going into the Houston5abaseball site for a while (in 2002 when Kazmir and Everts were pitching at Falls) and decided to look for any sites for football which is my true passion sport...although that snowboarding caught my eye! But I digress - so I found this site and watched for a while - was a little too intimidated to post at first. Then I remembered that I am the daughter of a Marine and the mother of twin 16 year old girls and, if I can survive that, certainly I can post here;) So, I started posting and had quite a few and then they all got wiped out and I had to start over...It looks like I started posting in 2005 but I've been around since 2003 at least...and it has been a FUN ride guys!

I remember in 02, the week of the Abilene Cooper game, I heard some fans were talking smack on this site, and I decided to take a look...The Dragons smacked the Cougars, the smack talkers disappeared (for while.:D ) and the rest is history..the Cooper game to me was the first validation that the 5-A version of Carroll was for real.

i always been interested in high school football past to preasent just never really got into searching sites, wasn't till my senior year i developed a passion for it a our QB on this site and got on it, i later joined the forum when i herd some of arlington lamars players running there mouth how they were gona beat us, even though they did beat us it was one of the online fights to remeber.

I've been a member of Dallasbasketball.com since 2001 and still have only 900 something posts. I've got 16K on here since October 2003 through the last 2 board crashes until now.

I first noticed her on the board on posts 9-13 on the thread about girls playing football. Since I move around a lot, it's not normal for somebody to make an impression on me on the board that early unless they're acting like a complete jerk. I've seen a couple people come on the board with great info from the start, though.

I found this board during the 02' football season. I was sitting in my English class waiting for the bell to ring, and one of the football players in my class was surfing this board. I went home and looked it up on ezboard, and started to read posts for a couple weeks before I made my first post.

I was at the Katy-Washington game a couple of years ago at Thorne Stadium...Washington was up at halftime so I decided to go to the Katy side and tell them how much their team sucked. I ran into a couple of guys with "KT Boyz" on their shirts. They began to pummel me and kept asking me "Who's you daddy b!@#H"....and then they took an hot iron and branded the words "5ATexasFootball" on my chest....I've been here every since out of fear.


Just kidding...I found this site a couple of years ago looking for Info on the Madison-Northshore game. I googled it and a post from "Greatest games" popped up. I noticed the message board and I think when I got here I was hated. The first argument I took place in was about Schools with money having the advantage and how schools with money could send kids to football camps year round and players from Yates had to get summer jobs to support the family...I've been here every since. Great Site....if I ever get fired from my job....I can blame it on you guys.:D

It crashed when I had about 500 and many others had a lot more. It crashed again after I had 2600. They must've done something right with the current board because it has a lot more posts in a little under a year than the last one did.

I wish I had known about the site sooner as well, but i'm glad I found it nontheless. My only real regret is not posting sooner, but Im not as knowledgeable about HS football as a lot of people on this board, so im content to read and learn from others.

well..it was early freshman year, and i wanted some stats, so i typed in "5a Texas Football Scores"..and the main page popped up, and i noticed the forum, so i read it every once and a while, but didnt join, i joined right before soccer season started in jan 05 (due to some soccer trash talk) and didnt post much, the board crashed, and i had the OLD link still, so then around june, i decided to go the main page, and check it out, and then found out the board was put back up again, so i joined, and the rest is history

I used to converse with KT on another football board years ago before he was even out of high school. He was way more mature than most posters on that board even for a young whippersnapper. Ask him some time about the guy from Puerto Rico. Some great stories. Then he moved to, ugh, Popsyvannia and after watching the Penn. High School football made it back to Texas. He has done an outstanding job with this site.

I think I was also posting with 2000 before he was out of high school and was totally blown away when I found out he was just a kid! Maybe on the old Houston Chronicle board? I finally met them face to face at a Red-White game at Rhodes... before the 2001 season maybe? Anyway... I'm a big fan of the KT Bros and miss having 97 here in Katy like crazy.
