Ask KT2000 and ktchamp97.
Oh wait, they already answered that by ranking them the number 3 team in 5a. Odds are, they'll be fine.

If they can hold off teams like Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine, they i think they have a chance to sneak into the playoffs as the 3rd place team........
alright im done lol

IMO, this will be SmithsonValley's best team yet, they have some outstanding WRs, a young QB that knows the system (coaches son) and some good RBs, on D they will have one of the best LB corps in the state and they have Andrew Sendejo at CB to shutdown the opposing teams best WR, I say SmithsonValley takes the 5A state championship this upcomming season

Bum Phillips said it best years ago with the Oilers.."I'm tired of knockin on the door, it's time we kicked the sum___itch down"! I think SV is due sooner or later..but we know how hard it is just to make it through the playoffs to the big dance...We'll see.....

Unless they go division 1 (and they wont because Judson is one of the top 5 biggest schools in Texas) i'd say that Todd Dodge and co have something to say about that.

yeah i agree...however i dont feel thsi was Sv's best team... the team when they had clint haney was awesome.

I agree with you. But this years team seems to have it all. That '01 team with Haney was mostly that, Haney.

I expect SV to go a long way this season. Primarily because I just don't see anyone projecting in Region 4, Div. II that looks strong enough to really challenge them. As usual, teams you don't expect step up during the course of the regular season but SV really looks in a good position going in. The two teams I think could challenge SV in the playoffs, Judson and Clemens, will both be in the Division I bracket assuming they take care of business.
Katy is in a very similar position to SV in Region 3, Div. II. Going in with a good amount of talent/experience and there doesn't appear to be much in the way. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I dont know much about SV....but i hope Katy does well this season

Katy seems like one of those teams that i always end up pulling for towards the end if my Lions arent still in the playoffs. They just go out there, take care of buisness without being dirty about it. I barely ever see them talk noise, and they dont usually have any overwhelming player, they're just usually a very well put together team.

So let me get this straight, the QB for Sv is the coaches son, only going to be a junior, leading a team that has state expectations with a town that lives on football?...... Can you say PRESSURE?
dragonsdaddy
07-10-2005, 10:11 AM
considering who dad is and the quality football he has witnessed and played in, i expect there are few better prepared for the pressure than him. what some people see as a hurdle, others see as a step up to the next level.

They will be pretty good, but could well be 8-2 entering the playoffs. They face stiff tests against PV and Judson both who they play on the road. I look for both home teams to take care of SV in those games. I still think that that will not hurt them, look no farther than Tyler Lee last year, who finished 7-3 and still won state.
The Facts are the Facts and that is a Fact!!!!!

i dont, i think SV will be better than SLC this upcomming season, its not a knock against SLC, i just think SmithsonValley will be that good, they'll face Katy in the Semis and i think they'll beat Katy as well..

For those of you that don't know, this upcoming year's senior class is the greatest in school history. There's also a sense of urgency with this being the last year before the new high school opens. Expect them to be headhunters in December.

RGVbadboy... for someone who is supposedly from the RGV, how come pretty much every post you've made is about smithson valley. Did they beat your team that bad?

I agree Judson will be tough, but it will be a different story with P'Ville. They were fortunate last year and will have a very hard time against the Rangers.

If Smithson Valley stays healthy, they'll go 10-0 or 9-1. They won't lose to Tivy or Pflugerville. Madison and everybody's darling Churchill won't beat them either, but the miracle great game-bad game scenario can come into play for SV to lose. SV can and might lose to the Big Red Machine, but I'm not ready to prognosticate on that game.

Yeah, it was Pflugerville. The Pflugerville playing Tivy, SV, and then Judson triangle made me forget who was playing who.
No, SV won't lose to Temple.

I would hope not. I think the churchill game will be tough, but they should get by them. As for Judson and PV, ??? If the QB works out, they will win them all, if not, they could lose them all.

actually my team has NEVER played Smithson Valley, i just have GREAT respect for that program, they are a bunch of blue collared kids that just show up and play...they did beat an RGV team that was 12-0 this past season 51-0 but that RGV team was lacking about 8 starters.....not that they would have made the game any closer....SV was just that good

RGVBadBoy......Coach Hill's son was the QB last year.....and the previous year......where the heck did you get all that info....is that a quote from a couple of years ago...cause Sendejo graduated in 06 and hasn't played for SV since the 05 season. And, to answer the the question of the of the thread....SV is going to have an outstanding season, but not because of the reasons you mention above!!! :D

Yes the 2005 team ended up having a very good year. Lost a close game to Katy at Tully. I was there.

:cry I was there too Dad.....SAD day indeed for those boys.....but I'd rather have it be close than be a run a way!! It was a good game! I blamed the loss on my sister-in-law and her boyfriend...lol...they hadn't been to any of my son's games (because they live in Houston), but came to that one....lol....we lost, so I told them they were bad luck....:D Hey, gotta blame it on something, right!!!

Why bring up a thread that was last posted OVER 2 YEARS AGO? Before you posted yesterday, the last post in this thread was from July 2005. Couldn't you have posted in one of the 30 something OTHER SV threads since then.
Did you go back to page 98 in the forum or something? All you are doing by bringing backa 2 year old thread is creating mass confusion.
No one brought up the Judson bus issue again, BTW... That was also a post from 2 years ago. And since that post, SV has beaten Judson both years.
