We (champ and I) made us a private group for the Tourney Challenge (http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/frontpage?campaign=TC06&source=in_txt_fantNav). The group is "5A Texas Football.com" and the password is "5ATXFB" (all caps).
Put one of your brackets in our group!

Geez, we can only submit one bracket to this group? I don't know what bracket I want to add! In my favorite bracket I have the shocker of the year... yes Memphis losing to #16 Oral Roberts... you heard it here first.

In my honest opinion, Texas has as good a shot of anyone at making it to the championship game. Sure Texas lost to Kansas in the Big 12 championship... they had to play games in 3 consecutive days and anyone who follows Texas knows they do not have the depth to do that. However, the way the NCAA tourny is set up so that teams get plenty of rest... Texas starting 5 and top 7 are as good as any team in the nations.... it should be interesting. I think Texas has a fairly easy trip to the final 4 and I feel that Duke is going to fall early. Just call it a huntch.

Duke will find a way to choke, just like they always do.
Texas loses games to teams they shouldn't, but then beats some of the best teams. By my logic, the tournament consists of the good teams, thus Texas will beat them all:D

When was the last time someone won the Football and Basketball championship in the same year?

Never. Texas doesnt have the depth like Duke does. Even during earlier in the season Texas does'nt have a answer to JJ Redick. Even during the Dec. 10 game. Texas is a very good team dont get me wrong but They dont have the chemistry that Duke has or as I mentioned the depth

I'm calling it out and saying Texas wins it in all three. Well technically four. Football, basketball, Baseball, and swimming.
Didn't they win it in track too?

Duke has "choked' it's way to national championships before. However, I have them losing to U Conn in the final.
Texas is capable, but I doubt that they can put together six good games in a row.

Dook's biggest ? is depth. They were deep the year they won it all recently (2001). They need McRoberts and Melchionni to really step up on offense and take pressure off of Redick and SheWill. DeMarcus Nelson has to give them something off the bench. Dook gets almost no point production from their bench, and that's something most championship teams need. I think they can get to the Final Four because they've got a pretty good draw.
I tried to register but am having problems.............

Are you being serious????????????
Of course I am kidding! I was just trying to add some levity!
Then again - maybe it was the UT reference that would cause one to pause and contemplate that maybe I was having a problem logging in..........

I'm tied for 3rd. 10 points from first:D
Stupid Marquette....
I just have a question:
Why the hell did I pick SD State?
Figures the Sooners would choke....
Iowa??? Losing to a 14 seed???
Nevada lost to a 12 seed....
I should have picked Arizona instead of Wisconsin
So far I am 18-6. Pretty good, I guess
Slim-Rob
03-17-2006, 06:55 PM
On my second name I picked all the worst seeds to advance. 3 of the 4 I had in the final 4 are out, with only Albany left:D
I am 6-18 so far....
Kinda funny, cause I didn't pick all the good seeds on my other name, yet it is exactly opposite...

Well, round 1 is over and only one of my Sweet 16 teams is out. That's okay, cause I had them losing in that round anyway. I guess that's what I get for picking against a #14 seed huh....

I was in the running to win the 10,000 dollars given out by ESPN until yesterday so I am pretty disapointed. My bracket was ranked in the top 10,000 out of over 3 million brackets...if a few things would have went my way yesterday (mainly the Pitt game) I could have made things interesting.... yesterday screwed that up and I dropped to 68,000 but I am still in first place in the 5atexasfootball.com group and am in prime posistion to win it.
