Leander is hanging tough with Stony Point 13-6 at beginning of fourth qtr. Don't they known that stony is ranked third in the state? Everyone knows that cedar park's schedule sucked, so Leander can't possibly play with the Tigers could they? ;)

First, no disrespect to STP--we at CP know how good they are and will be....

But, Leander was a top twenty 5a team coming into the season (can't fault CP for scheduling that game) and perhaps they are coming around. they have the personnel--harper is a darn good back for one...

was our schedule that bad or....:D

got to love football season

District games are usually tougher because you know teams better, UNLESS your district is WEAK and only has 1-3 good team and then a bunch of scrubs. STP is struggling. Last year they lost to CP, but destroyed teams in the playoffs while CP lost at home in round one. The prior year CP beat them also and they made the semis and how far did CP go? Why do some teams turn it on in the playoffs and others fizzle out?

Oh if we only had hutto on the schedule. ;).

Stony point was a better team than we were last year when we beat them. Much more talented. That about sums it up.

That is silly man. Chesshire is far from gods gift to coaching.

Stony Point KILLED CP in the 08-09 season 35-10 even when they had McKnight.

twolf, Chessher is not a bad coach by any means.

There is a big spread of land in between "bad" and "Gods gift go coaching" and that's the neighborhood where he lives. He's been gifted by the football Gods with rediculous talent over there. That's what a huge high school plus a 9th grade campus will get you. It's always been pflugerville times 2 in regards to talent.

They've been really good, but to call coaching the reason is silly.

Than you I think:confused

We have a long way to go but we are improving I can promise you this with our coach and program we will be ready come playoff time. We haven't had a start this bad in 10 years but I am extremely happy with the the way the team is handling it. Go lions!!!!

Anyone that schedules annual powerhouses like DeSoto, Judson and Stony Point are going to compete in the playoffs every year. Congrats on last night, you almost pulled it off!

Didn't say he was. But knowing how to and utilizing all your talent to WIN rather than rack up meaningless stats between the 20 yard lines is not silly. Winning is the only recognized measuring stick for success. Ask LT, SP, Trinity, et al. CP's past record speaks for itself...very little post season success. The others...huge post season success. Silly, my a$$.

You really just compared:

1. Lake Travis as a big 4A with incredible talent, NFL bloodlines, the best facilties in the country for a high school, three straight GREAT Division 1 QB's that span the last 7 years, and the only High School in the district
2. Trinity with the somoan connection, 3,000 kids in their high school with incredible tradition and talent. Probably the most talented high school program in the entire nation.
3. Stony Point, who while granted we've beaten them more than they've beaten us, it was always a shock to me becaue they were VASTLY more talented athletcially than we were (coaching maybe?). Oh and by the way they were another school that was over 3,000 kids with a feeder 9th grade campus to boot.

To Cedar Park? A school who's attendance zone has been gutted twice (Vista Ridge and Vandegrift) in it's breif 13 year history of existance, that up until a couple of years ago had pitiful facilities, no realy history to speak of save one season in the quarter finals with athletes who would evenutally be zoned to Vista Ridge, was always outnumberd by the schools we played in the first round Cy Fair Schools by at least 1,000 kids (more kids in your program and more athletes to play the game), on and on and on.

No, you didn't just compare Cedar Park's past several years to Trinity, Stony Point and Lake Travis did you? Puuuuullllleeeeezzzzeeeeee.

Thankfully Cedar Park is finally in a great position, as a decent size 4A school, with boundaries that should be fairly stable. We'll finally be able to have some consistency through the middle school to the high school, build an identity, have success it takes to break through like Lake Travis did just a few years ago (in 4A mind you).

Sit back and watch what Cedar Park does over the next 5 years when we are on an even playing field with most of the teams we are playing against and then pass judgement.

Sorry, can't follow your blind, excuse-ridden logic. And I'm sure all those talent-challenged athletes at CP appreciate your expert evaluation of them. Don't they have several D-I commits and others with offers? We'll see how this season plays out since CP is now a big fish in a smaller pond. But my guess is 5 years from now, things will be the same. I hope things do change such that you can boast "I told you so"...

CP's playoff record is what it is (or was). Not sure I understand why people keep talking about playoff records like it has some meaningful aspects that pertain to this season. Every playoff team, even the teams that run deep, have either had short runs or no playoff experience at some point. My opinion (worthless as it may be), CP goes very deep if not all the way this season and STP "fizzle's out" by the looks of how both teams are playing now.

Oh I'm tempted to simplify it for you, but I won't. Come on air strike, dont be a hater on an 8-0 football team.
