Although Rouse has gotten off to a rough start for their first year of varsity football, they do have a really good coach and players. Don't expect this to be another CP vs. Vandy type score, Rouse's coach Mann was on CP's staff just a few years ago and knows them well.

Agree on all points. Coach Ross is already preparing the guys for a tough, up and coming Rouse team that is getting better each week. Believe me, nobody at CP is expecting a "Vandy" game. And since Coach Ross and Coach Mann are close, don't expect CP to pile on points unnecessarily. Hopefully, your players show more sense than Vandy's and limit their trash talking beforehand to the normal friendly banter rather than all the profane stuff they threw out there. That didn't bode well for Vandy, which probably helped contribute to the score.
Best of luck on Friday and welcome to the Gup! :heli:

I don't expect anything like vandy. They asked for it, and got it. Rouse probably knows better. Plus with Josh Mann being so close to Ross you know there won't be any td passes before half if we are up by 30.
The next three weeks are gonna make us appreciate how helpful that vista game was. Maybe marble will give us a good shot.

Must have been in a cave (or working too hard), but what is up with all the bad blood with the little sister school (Vandy)? Is it because some of the players were in the CP program before the split? Did the coaches at Vandy stir things up on the blogs? Someone please fill Cpack7 into what started all this? I hope that cooler heads prevail and we do not tarnish our reputation.

Yes, the Vandy junior high kids use to feed into CP, they all know each other. It most likely started when the Vandy players would come to CP's spring practice last year and trash talk as CP went into their locker rooms after practice. It continued all summer via Facebook, etc... I'm not so sure CP has any real beef with Vandy other than that and I do believe the trash talking was a huge factor in how the score turned out.

Don't know Marble Falls that well but I'd be willing to bet they have good skilled players like Vista and they matched up well against each other, that's why they kept the ball betweed the 20's in the MF/VR game. If Marble Falls does have the skill players you're correct, Marble Falls will give Cedar Park a game.

My great nephew is the RB for Rouse. They played a WAY tougher non-district schedule than Vandergrift!

There is a lot of history between the two staffs as a whole! Its going to be a neat rival game and will be as long as the 2 head coaches remain the same! Here's to an injury free game! :)

Teams don't become rivals until they have both beaten the other team. Leander vs CP...rivalry. CP vs VR, Vandy, Rouse...not yet... Maybe someday, but until...not yet.

I for one will be watching to see what Coach Mann has planned given that he was on CP's staff. It will be interesting to see how he'll scheme vs the CP offense.
Here's to a good injury-free game!

Coach Mann and Coach Ross do know each other well but I'd bet most all coaches from any team reconize a play while they're in formation, question becomes can they stop it. CP is too big up front.:notworthy

mercy? :(
I'm sure if you saw the game, you would know that WAS mercy. You can't tell the subs to not play hard. Too bad but Rouse will get better.:)

Agree-this team has depth and they are all hungry to play. The score couls have been much, much worse as we shut it down by the 2nd Qtr.
Our prayers go out to the injured Raider. Keep us posted.

Maybe "RIVAL" wasn't a good term, but a neat game between the 2 staffs. There is more history there, then just Coach Mann and Coach Ross:)

Cedar Park is just a dang good team. Rouse has 13 Sophomore starters, kids that are barely 15/16 years old, going up against 17/18 year olds. Its kind of hard to compete with very little depth, when Cedar Park's third string could also easily be starters for them.
CP did not intentionally run up the score. No one at Rouse thinks that. Chris Ross has class and although if you first look at the score, you WOULD think that, but it was far from the case.
Cedar Park is just a damn good team this year and everyone at Rouse hopes that Coach Ross and his staff and the team go on to win it all. If there is ever a year for them- this is it and we will be there cheering for them.
I have no doubt that CP will beat Lake Travis and be district champs.
And thank you--Everything seems to be looking up for #22!
