Kiss your players, your cheerleaders, your color guard kids, your band kid, your drill team member, your crew member, your young ones tonight, and realize that life can be very very short. I do so feel for the Rake family and particularly Josh's brothers. This was heartbreaking, a very young man with so much to look forward to.

Exceptionally well said my friend....

While the Dragon parents are excited about the win tonight, a lot of us have a much different perspective of how important football, or any activity, really is for our kids. Just being able to hug your child, tell them you love them and say good night takes on a whole new meaning this evening :(

I was so shocked to see the story. As a fan of an opposing team, I only saw what a fine athlete he was and apparently he was just as fine as a person. My thoughts and prayers definitely go out to the Rake family.
I called my daughter of the same age who is away at college just to hear her voice and tell her I love her. Life is so precious. Hug your sons, daughters, moms, dads and all family members and tell them you love them.

Unbelievable pain. When I began this post I prayed Josh would pull through. When they are 15 and 11months we ask where they are walking too. At 16 we give them the keys to a 2 ton hunk of steel with four wheels and a 250+ horsepower motor. Most survive but this is so tragic. Prayers to the Rake family and friends but prayers to all with younsters. Prayers that we never have to face this first hand ourselves.

A young death is very hard to deal with. I watched a tape of a Cedar Hill game telecast on TXA21 from a few years back. Josh played a good game. We miss you man. For others, I was told that Josh was traveling south on 35w and he dropped his phone. He unbelted himself to reach for the phone. When he recovered it he looked up and was veering off the road. He was ejected out of the truck. Now no one witnessed this but Josh so I am not saying it is true. I am pointing out to everyone what can happen when you drive while distracted. Love and prayers for Josh and his family and friends and for the rest...Be careful out there.
