One thing about it. You'll have a lot clearer picture of how good your team is coming out of that stretch.

If you want a preview of Carter, go to GarlandOwls.com, football, video vault. (Two games) It IS Garland highlites, but you can see the Carter style. Usually a tight wing T, huge, fast linemen. Off tackle left, off tackle right twenty to thirty times a game. Maybe five or six passes a game. Smash mouth football! Interesting that the Garland style is almost the same.

I saw Plano play TJT in the 2001 playoffs. Wing T and toss sweeps all day.

Can't wait for this game. Should be a good test to see how Plano will do during district play.

Didn't we do that last year also? From what I was told we held our own against Trinity and Carter. I would love to watch that scrimmage this year.

You folks did good in the scrimmage.(Midland) Nance didn't play much but Lineweaver had to see who he had. See ya at Pennington in August. Also to be a scrimmage you folks bring a great crowd! My bad talking on another teams thread!:D :D

Watched Plano play SGP at Texas stadium in the playoffs. Your defense had a couple of stud linebackers. Are those guys coming back? I believe their #'s were 37 and 80!!

Plano will be strong next year. Reloading instead of rebuilding.

Their JV team was undefeated until their quaterback was moved up to the varsity as a back up with two games to go in the season. They lost the game to East after that. The two 9-10 grade feeder schools only loss was when they played each other. Student population has grown a lot in the last three years and will be even larger next year. They are almost back up to size after the split to open Plano West a few years ago.

I talked to one of their teachers this past week. He said they are confident the football team next year will be as good as the one from this season. The JV quarterback coming up is really good, got a lot of experience leading the JV and will be passing more than they did last season. Should be interesting.

plano will surprise everyone in the state if they try to throw more this fall. that has always been a bugaboo for coach brence, who seems to have teethed on the bear bryant tome- of 2 bad things happening whenever you use the forward pass. having a qb able to pass hasn't been a stimulus in years gone by.

Brence is losening up the reigns a bit on his coaching. Look for a few significant deviations from the traditional Plano style football. Should be another good year for Plano in '06.

i only saw the one game last year, but i didn't see any evidence of this change in coaching strategies. hope you are right.
