26 for my son and 29 for my twin daughters. By the way, have to brag on my softball player - she was one out from pitching a perfect game the other day - she ended up with a one hit 14-0 shutout!! First base had an error on the next to last play:(

WOW. 14-0 shutout and 1 out away from the perfecto that is pretty impressive considering its so hard to do. She must be disappointed by not getting the final out for the perfect game, but she must understand that getting the win is more important than a perfect game. It would have been great if she got the perfect game and the win at the same time.

I got married when I was 20. I was 25 when my son was born, 32 when my daughter was born.
SeguinMatadors, good idea about saving some $$ before kids. I was married 5 yrs before my first child which gave me and my wife time to have mucho fun plus adjust to being around each other all the time. We went on a 7-day Carribean cruise plus went back to Cayman Islands for 3 days. It was good to do that stuff before becoming totally domestic parents.
My son will be married this April and has apparently been feverishly trying to make me a grandad. I'll find out soon about my grandparent status.

married in March of 93, son born Sept 93. You do the math...
Seguin, if you enjoy being broke and having the most serious kind of obligation, then your plan might work, otherwise, I would advise you to wait a while. The first 5 years were VERY tough for us, especially financially. Nobody thought we'd make it, but we did really love each other. We're also very determined to do what's right for our kids and our walk with the Lord. I believe this is why we are still married after everything we've been through. That, and the fact that she gave me a Playstation, Madden, and NCAA football to keep me out of trouble when she was working nights!
I was 22, wife was 19.
Have 2 boys now, 12 and 7.
Will have been married 13 years on Mar 13. whhooooo- hhhooooo!!!!
13 of the longest most miserable years... for her!

She must be disappointed by not getting the final out for the perfect game, but she must understand that getting the win is more important than a perfect game. It would have been great if she got the perfect game and the win at the same time.
She is all about playing well and and being a good teammate -win or lose. What happened was that she was on Varsity and was not going to pitch any longer and the JV pitcher failed 3 classes and the coaches asked her if she would be willing to go down to JV to help out - she did so with no complaints and has had 3 shutouts this season already. She gets to play varsity from time to time too. She didn't care that she lost the perfect game the other day - she was so happy to win for her team. One of the JV dads told me that those girls (mostly Freshmen and Soph's) are so happy she came down and they are winning too! Tonight, it's Tomball so I don't know - even their JV is tough.

I was 20 years old. :)
I was just answering the basic question. I was married when I was 19 (way too young). Married in March 1985, expecting in May 1985 (ooooooppppssss), and a Mom in March 1986. (to early, to fast, to young). But God has a way of making things work out.
My second beauty was born when I was 31.

I'm surprised Miss Kitty didn't tell you guys that none of you had kids.
I was married at 27 on Nov 5, 1998. If you use the 40 week rule, I had her pregnant on Dec 7, 1998. That kid still acts like Pearl Harbor and the marriage sure was like Pearl Harbor!:D I was 28 when she was born in 1999.
I think there might've been a miscarriage sometime in 2000 a couple months after the first one was born. I was 29 when #2 (or is that #5?;) was born in 2001.
There was a miscarriage in 2002 and that kid didn't need to go through the turmoil of a bad marriage.
The moral of the story is she finally found a good way to not get pregnant. ABSTINENCE!

So wouldnt the "time" be when you are married, have finished school (college or trade) and have at least a little bit of financial backing to help because it is expensive.... Its not fair to bring another human being into the world with enless you think about this kind of stuff, and your ready to give up your life to them.

Absolutely. We were a bit different. I was still finishing med school and about to start residency. She had already graduated and had a job. In our situation, we could afford to run up a little debt. But both of you at least have your degree or have a job with security before attempting to have kids. But also as Dada said, take time to be intimate with your partner. When kids come along, any kind of exploration goes bye bye.

I was 23 when the first one showed up, 27 when the second one got here, 28 when the third one arrived. (yep those last two weren't spaced out to well....the wife wasn't happy). The good news is that there won't be anymore. I have three kids because I don't want four.

My only regret is that I put a 9 year gap between my two. 2 or 3 years would have been great.

I love kids...hell, I still feel like a kid...and I can't wait to have one of my own, but then again, I can. Does that make any sense? I'm 26 and I'm hoping to be able to wait a couple of years before we have our first.
At my age, my mom had an 8 year old, a 6.5 year old, and a 5 year old, a college degree, and was 3 years away from a much-needed divorce...I don't know how she did it.

Of course it makes sense. I still feel like a kid in many ways too. That is something you should never lose. But you two made a plan along time ago and you have been following through with it wisely. Enjoy each other, life will never be the same when you have kids. I am not saying better or worse, but different.
Your mom must have been a strong woman. She raised good kids for sure.
