Wanted to throw out there observations for the first 3 weeks of the season. Who is the best QB in the area? Passing, and dual threat.

The best so far has been Joesph Schneider from The Woodlands. He has 737 yards 8 TDs passing and 326 yards 6 TDs rushing. Also he led 2 straight last minute/Overtime victories.

Id vote Wayne Taylor from Memorial as a Dual-Threat QB... But I am a bit biased... At the least - hes up there

The best quarterback in the Houston area that I have personally seen doesn't have the numbers most of the guys who would be considered the top guys and his team is 0-3. And to call him a dual threat just doesn't do him justice I mean the kid throws the ball, runs the ball, catches the ball, returns the ball, and plays defensive back. The players I'm talking about is Eisenhower Eagles quarterback James Jones.

He hasn't done anything yet.

Are of A. Taylor can both run and throw. I don't know his numbers but he looks good.

Here is my homer pick....Trey Anderson Pearland Oilers, leading district 24 5A in passing and is 3rd in the Houston area in yards. 42-61 690 8-0. Can make all the throws, deep out routes, digs, screens and has a very nice touch on the ball. He did very well as a junior last year and the experience is paying off. He was on The Friday Night football Frenzy ( Sunday Edition) with his counter part Dustin Garrison who happens to be second in the Houston area in rushing.

Go Oilers

4A....the QB from Friendswood.

Bruce Reyes from WB is up there also.....

I would have to go with Reyes. Trey is pretty salty. Both benefit from the weapons that surround them. I believe Reyes is asked to do a little more with his legs. Hard not to have Schnieder not in this group, too. Maetzold at Friendswood is up there, as well.

I have my personal favorite, but that would be "daddy ball"!;)

1. Matt Davis, so sad not to be able to watch him this season

2. Joe Schneider, one of the few bright spots and surprises to many for a down TWHS team this season.

Have not seen either the WB or Pearland QB's, but from what I have heard they are excellent. Saw Katy's QB last season. He maybe doesn't get enough credit this season because of the depth of Katy.

Agreed. Not a qb that has better mechanics, savvy or smarts than the Anderson kid. Forget the numbers. When you have "it", what else is there?

I'm thinking GHA, so...

As far as Pocket-Passer:
Might have to agree... but I will checkout the Reyes kid at West Brook, this Saturday night. I saw him play Cinco Ranch, last year... and he brought something to the table. If he can go hog wild and lead BWB to a victory he'll likely be my guy. But, in seeing Anderson earlier this year, I have to admit that kid can make some crazy throws. He had vision, great release, and escapability. The only thing he lacked was height!

As far as Dual Threat:
I also have to say the Braylon kid for Hightower is pretty crazy w/ his feet. But, so is Reyes. We'll see!

I've seen what I believe are the three best dual threats in the Houston area:

1) Jones - Eisenhower because he had fewer weapons and still looked like a monster.
2) Sneider - Woodlands, because he has speed, accuracy and moves but a HUGE offensve Line.
3) Addison - Hightower, Everything said above only because he lost to Sneider in Double OT. The Kid is a Miracle Worker.

The Ike kid was fast, but I'd rather have Reyes. He runs well enough and he is much more accurate.
