Vince Young - QB - Player
The Saints didn't have a significant presence at Vince Young's Pro Day and won't hold a private workout for him.
These things are often misleading, so we don't put too much stock in it. The Texans, Titans, Jets, and Ravens all will hold private workouts with Young before the draft. Mar. 23

Chad Pennington - QB - Jets
The Jets won't comment on the status of Chad Pennington's rehab.
It's believed that he's limited to throwing 15-yard passes. Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said Patrick Ramsey has "significant untapped upside," which could mean the Jets will pass on a rookie quarterback at the top of the draft. Mar. 23

Keyshawn Johnson agreed to a four-year deal, $14 million contract with the Panthers, including a $5 million signing bonus.
Keyshawn is a great fit in Carolina, giving them a reliable physical option across from Steve Smith who can help in the running game. His numbers should continue to decline, however, on the run-heavy 'Cats. Keary Colbert should slide into a No. 3 role. Mar. 23

Keyshawn Johnson attempted to shed his selfish label at Friday's press conference to announce his signing.
"I don't even know what a No. 1 wide receiver is, to be honest with you," Johnson said, deferring to the Panthers' 2005 All-Pro wideout Steve Smith. "I know what a dominant wide receiver is and Steve Smith is definitely dominant. Steve Smith would probably be the No. 1, the 2 and the 3 depending on the situation." Johnson also challenged those in attendance "to find one person in any locker room, training room, or anybody who has been associated with me to say I've been a problem." Mar. 25

Ricky Manning Jr. - DB - Panthers
Bears signed CB Ricky Manning to a five-year offer sheet that could be worth up to $21 million.
Scheduled to make $721,600, Manning will now make $7.5 million over the next 12 months. Carolina will not consider matching an offer that big for their nickel cornerback. They will be happy to get a third-round pick for him. A star of the team's 2003 Super Bowl run, Manning wasn't the physical player John Fox hoped for the last two seasons. Apr. 21

Darrell Hackney - QB - Browns
Browns signed undrafted free agent QB Darrell Hackney.
The UAB product was touted as a possible mid-round pick until a sluggish pro day and Senior Bowl. Unless the Browns add a veteran QB, Hackney has an outside shot to make the team as a No. 3 quarterback.

Ty Law - DB
GM Carl Peterson says there's no chance of Ty Law becoming a Chief with the corner's current contract demands.
"Without dancing all around it, it all gets down to the money," Peterson said. "So far, Ty Law has commanded a great deal of money that he's not worth, quite. When he gets to the point when he says, 'I'll play for a little bit less ...' then we can come together." May. 6

Kerry Collins - QB - Raiders
The Akron Beacon-Journal believes Kerry Collins is headed to Tennessee after Steve McNair is given his release.
