Reggie ran the fastest 40 at the combine for QB's with a 4.35 beating out the closest competition Marcus Vick 4.42. Does anyone know what Maurice Drew ran I know he had the fastest time but that was before Reggie Ran his 40.

Maurice Drew ran a 4.39, but that wasn't near the fastest. There were some great times
WR Chad Jackson - 4.32
WR Willie Reid - 4.34
WR Devin Aromashodu - 4.35
Then came the DBs. All nine guys in group 11 ran sub-4.4 40s.
Tye Hill - 4.30
Johnathan Joseph - 4.31
Tim Jennings - 4.32
Michael Huff - 4.34
Daniel Bullocks - 4.38
Willie Andrews - 4.38
Antoine Bethea - 4.39
Jason Allen - 4.39
Kelly Jennings - 4.39
However, the most impressive 40 time put up at the combine BY FAR came from Maryland TE Vernon Davis who weighed in at 6'3 6/8 263 pounds and ran a 4.38.  He's a freaking TE.
The really bad news is that Tech's Dwayne Slay and Taurean Henderson both put up very bad numbers. Slay ran a 4.8+ 40 which is slower that what most D-linemen ran. Henderson ran a 4.63 at only 204 pounds. Both of those guys probably got knocked well out of the draft.
Reggie's 40 time was very impressive, but it might have been a two edged sword. It sure showed off his wheels, but he posted the weakest arm strength numbers among all QBs at the combine including guys like Brad Smith and DJ Shockley who aren't even really considered NFL QB prospects. Some scouts described him as "cocky" in the interviews (that according to Lance Zierlein of 610 SportsRadio in Houston). Reggie was asked to work out at WR and I don't think he very happy about that, but I believe he did anyway. Odds are he will have to make a switch so the time working at a new position probably helped. By all accounts, despite an impressive 40 time, Reggie's stock fell some because of a poor arm, but a solid performance at his pro day may help. Best of luck to him.
All that being said, none of that stuff matters. He will suck because he only scored in the teens on the Wonderlich. He's dooooooommmmmmmmeeeeeed!

The NFL combine's official numbers. Reggie's peak ball speed (the way the NFL measures arm strength) measured at the combine was the lowest among all QBs. Hopefully that was just a fluke and he can impress at his pro day.

I just find that hard to believe after watching Reggie for 4 years, and seeing those other QBs. Arm strength was never an issue for him. Where did you get that info?

I watched it on NFL TV, but the results are also on NFL.com...

The Erik Meyer number is wrong because he tied Drew Olson on TV.
Ingle Martin from Furman has an absolute rocket. He really blew people away. On top of that, he runs in the 4.6s at 6'3 224. He could end up being one of the biggest sleepers.

the same Ingle Martin who lost his job to Chris Leak as a freshman? Highly doubtful. Workout warrior. Martin is a great athlete. I remember when he was at UF he punted and also ran some WR I believe.

That's him. The same Ingle Martin who was a remnant of the Spurrier regime, replaced by Ron Zook's prized recruit and arguably top QB recruit in the nation in Chris Leak who was supposed to be the savior of the Swamp the second the ink dried on his LOI papers. Yep, same guy.

no, I know who he was. i was saying "the same Ingle Martin who lost his job to Leak has potential as a QB in the NFL?"
I think you missed the "highly doubtful" portion of my post ;)

I stand corrected on one point. It turns out that McNeal decided NOT to work out in front of scouts at the aggy pro day so the combine was his last "audition" in front of scouts.

Reggie wont be listed at qb.It looks like his qb days are over.Funny, one of the host of the NFL network channel had Reggie as the 1st qb to be taken in the draft. That was a week before the combine!
