UT fans complain so much......you would think they didnt beat OU, lost in the Horse Shoe, and never played in the Rose Bowl.

Where is USC's second? Winning the AP title is not the same thing as winning the actual BCS. I know USC fans wont admit that. Its the system the Pac10 and all other BCS conferences agreed to play under...
No one will say that USC should have been given a shot at the 2003 title... but they werent, and they didnt win the title that year no matter how many times they say it...

Who said anything about the Heisman? That seems kind of odd and random, but I guess that's all the haters have left. Just start blurting stuff out in the desperate attempt to cover your massive pe**s envy.
BTW, if USC won two, then how do you explain this...

Your right. Winning the BCS and winning the AP tittle are not the same things. Winning the BCS is also different from winning THE NATIONAL TITLE.

Winning the BCS is also different from winning THE NATIONAL TITLE.
Actually, it's not. That is what the conferences (including the PAC 10) agreed to when they created the BCS. The BSC exist for one reason and one reason alone... to crown one true national champion. Hence the reason there is now an official National Championship game. In 2004, that game was played on this field...
http://xostech.cache.streamos.com/src/data/lsu/images/fb/2003fbteam.jpg
...and the USC Trojans werent within 1000 miles of this field much less playing on it for a National Championship.
lol its hard to argue with that JTK

Well, I usually don't like getting involved in this debate, but I will post this:
http://www.bcsfootball.org/index2.cfm?page=timeline
2003
For the only time since the BCS was formed, there is a split national champion. LSU finishes atop the coaches' poll by beating Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl in a pairing of the top two teams in the BCS Standings. USC, ranked first in both polls on Bowl Selection Sunday, is left out of the BCS championship game when the Trojans finish third in the BCS standings. But USC wins the Associated Press' championship after beating Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Oklahoma, which spent the season as the top-ranked team in both polls, earns a spot in the Sugar Bowl by finishing first in the final BCS Standings even though the Sooners lose to Kansas State in the Big 12 championship game. LSU, the SEC champion, edges USC for second place in the final BCS Standings to advance to the Sugar Bowl.
The Conference Champions
Atlantic Coast: Florida State (10-2)
Big East: Miami (10-2)
Big Ten: Michigan (10-2)
Big 12: Kansas State (11-3)
Pac-10: USC (11-1)
Southeastern: LSU (12-1)
Other Participants
Oklahoma (12-1)
Ohio State (10-2)
The Matchups
Sugar: (2) LSU 21, (1) Oklahoma 14
Orange: (9) Miami 16, (7) Florida State 14
Rose: (3) USC 28, (4) Michigan 14
Fiesta: (5) Ohio State 35, (10) Kansas State 28
The Result
A split decision: LSU finishes atop the coaches' poll; USC is No. 1 in the Associated Press poll.
The BCS acknowledges a split decision, never says LSU are outright BCS champions, and never say USC aren't their national champions.

Since 1998, the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) has conducted a contest between it's two top-ranked teams to determine a national champion.
2003
LSU: BCS, Billingsley, Colley, DeVold, Dunkel, FACT, Massey, NFF, Sagarin, Seattle Times, USA/ESPN
Oklahoma: Berryman
Southern California: AP, Eck, Matthews, NY Times
http://www.ncaa.org/champadmin/ia_football_past_champs.html (NCAA's official site)
The BCS was established to determine the national champion for college football while maintaining and enhancing the bowl system that's nearly 100 years old.
http://www.bcsfootball.org/index2.cfm?page=about (BCS official site)
The bottom line is that if you are not playing in the BCS national championship game, there is no way you can lay claim to a true national championship... period... end of story. All the whining in the world won't change that.

Not according to the BCS themselves. They acknowledged a split national title and never say LSU outright won the BCS. To everyone who matters, USC won two, and no matter how much you don't like them for whatever reason, you can't take that away from them.

They don't have to. LSU said it all when the won the BCS National Championship game.
The BCS doesn't want to come out and say they screwed up horribly that year by allowing the land thieves to play in the National Championship game instead of a much more deserving USC squad, but that is life. You move on. Unless of course you are USC and then you make up nice little rings to try and justify your meaningless AP trophy, or if you are ESPN and then you just keep repeating the phrase "back-to-back champions" in a silly attempt to bolster rating and add drama all while trying to give backing to your idiotic "greatest team of all-time" series. Everybody else knows the truth.

Heh, that "greatest team of all-time" series was pretty stupid. But whatever their reason was (the media, afraid to come out and say they screwed up, etc.) the BCS still claimed a split title with USC winning the AP and LSU winning the coaches poll (which, by the way, was forced upon them by their agreement with the BCS.)
But it's just what you believe. We could sit here for hours and I'm not going to convince you of anything and you aren't going to convince me... So let's just agree to disagree.

Spin, spin, spin. If UT was in So-Cal's position, they would be claiming that UT, not LSU, won the national championship. Because they (UT) aren't, they will continue to deny, now and forever, that USC won back-to-back championships. What's surprising is that the Katy's didn't weigh in on this with a bunch of statistics.

What's even less surprising is that DirtyHarry would go out of his way to call us out for no apparent reason and make an anti-UT post.
Here's "a bunch of statistics"...otherwise known as facts...
UT fans who claim the 1970 National Championship should know better than to rag on USC for a split national title. UT entered the Cotton Bowl as #1 in both the UPI and AP polls on the heels of a 30 game winning streak and got beat by Notre Dame. Despite the loss, UT was still recognized with the UPI National Championship.
Imagine that after the Rose Bowl, some poll gave USC the #1 spot...
Horns...enjoy the National Title, but lay off USC. We done beat them anyway.

Apples and oranges. There was no unified, singular national champion crowned then as there is now and has been since ‘98.
Split titles were very common back then including Notre Dame and Bama in '73, BlowU and USC in '74, Bama and USC in '78, etc. That is the very reason why the BCS was created... to end of all of that and it has done just that (about the only thing it has done right).

In the 2003 there was a national championship game played at the sugar bowl. LSU won. They won the BCS Nationl championship...now that being said. Can you say they didnt? Now lets look at it from usc side. Did you win the BCS national championship. the answer is no. Can you argue that? The answer to that is no.
Conclusion: LSU BCS NC WINNERS.
Regardless of who one the AP poll and who one the BCS NC game. The fact is that USC cant claim a National titel if they didnt play for one. there "title" is something the BCS made up to make them feel better because the BCS messed up like they do most years.
USC your a victim of the system. Sorry. But you only one 1 in the last 3 years not 2. GET OVER IT, STOP CRYING!

Yes jtk, i see the picture. You have shown he a 100 times. The facts are...1. Yes Lsu won the BCS tittle game and 2. USC won a share of the tittle.
You cant argue you that. If you want to, get a sports almanac.
God jt, can you say hypocrit? You say im crying because im stating facts....Dawg your stupid opinions over whether the winner of the BCS should be the undisputed champ is ridiculous. Your opinion doesnt matter. USC won a share of the tittle whether you like it or not. It a mother f'n fact. I dont know why you put so much energy into attempting to down grade USC's run. They won 2 national championships, get over it. Stop crying, you got your national championship. Enjoy it, hell worship it, just stop *****ing about a argument thats been closed for 3 years.

Dude, it's not UT fans behind this "onepete" thing. Get over your massive ***** envy and direct your hate to Baton Rouge if your panties are in that big of a wad. They are the ones behind this thing.
Nobody is trying to take anything away from USC. They have their title that they won when they beat the snot out of BlowU in the Orange Bowl. The only thing anybody wants to do is give LSU the proper credit they deserve for being the 2004 college football national champions. That is what they are. It is a fact. No doubt about it and no controversy unless you listen to a few nuts trying to spin something that doesn't matter.
I see that you just don't understand the concept of "facts". Something about the notion confuses you, but that is fine. We can just move on because your limitations are just preventing you from dealing with reality. Good luck.
