Why let your kid play DB in the Big 12?

Hi, my name is svhorns and I'm a recovering alcoholic. I would like to tell you why it would be absolutely asinine for your kid to play DB in the big 12 unless you of course get a scholarship to the greatest university ever invented in the University of Texas. The University of Texas has 3, yes 3, on the Thorpe watch list this year. I would not waste my time playing for any other university in the big 12 because you have no chance to become a successful NFL player. The reason the big 12 sucks for DB's is because of the conference, that's science. If you take the number 12 and add some hemoglobin along with the nose hair from Jim Thorpe you get an invention never heard of before. Only 2 people in this entire world have that recipe.

So the next time you see a kid playing db in the big 12 and his uniform isn't burnt orange, tell his parents they're ******* stupid.

I'm a huge 'Horns fan yet I recall this safety from OU that punked Chris Simms in the Cotton Bowl. I think he's doing alright.

And if you think Blake Gideon can win the Thorpe, you might have relapsed back on the sauce. He drops a gift wrapped pick against Tech. He catches it game over. No Crabtree heroics. I dont have to hear about how Tech beat UT "that one time". He intercepts a pass on 4th down in the Nat'l Championship. I thought he was a coaches kid? If he knocks it down maybe Colt never gets hurt? Thank you Blake Gideon for making me delve into the painful last two years. Thank you.

He also was neither of the two DBs that whiffed on Crabtree on a deep out route that should have at least been knocked out-of-bounds.

Does Gideon play OG or OT? Those are the guys that allowed the Nebraska to annihilate the Horns' OL. It was followed up with an equally putrid performance against a good Alabama defense. It's ludicrous to blame Gideon making a play on defense for Colt McCoy's injury. If he had tried to bat down the 4th down pass and the Bama WR caught it, what would your reaction have been when Gideon replied to questions, " Well, I knew I shouldn't catch it, but I was trying to protect my quarterback."

There are a lot of football fans that don't know their stuff. A ton of UT fans are showing their bias and ignorance when they blame Blake Gideon for those losses.

First of all I never brought up the Nebraska game. Second of all if Gideon intercepts that ball against Tech, the next play never happens. And even if the Crabtree pass gets knocked down or he gets pushed out of bounds, Tech can still kick a field goal.

Also I didn't blame Gideon for the loss against 'Bama. If he knocks it down, then field position changes and the game is played differently. I blame the coaching staff for not allowing Gilbert full reins of the offense in the first half and receivers dropping the ball for the loss.
