all right, I admit it...My last thread reach a low (Best Website). Since springball and 7 on 7 are coming up, what are some interesting items on whats happening with your teams. I know conroe05 has an interesting 7 on 7 insight and happenings.

Like we've said in other threads, the Dragons have a lot of new receivers to look at..it should be fun!

I think I'm going to be the head adult coach for SJ... I think that means my #1 responsibility will be making sure we have plenty of snacks and Gatorade :)

I haven't found any source for the 2006 rules... Dave Campbell's website has the 2005 rules... I wonder if they'll be any changes in those this year and if we ever cleared up that question about interceptions on balls released after 4 seconds?

I bet they have new rules on the timing of the plays..they seem to change it every year.

actually strake jesuit guy....if your head coach, you have alot of responsabilities!!! leave the gatoraide to the kids moms!!! and im sure you will have plenty of soccer moms to take care of that, being from strake jesuit and all...especially if stake does not have alot of good passing plays in their playbook!!!!

You managed to take a swipe at me, moms, soccer moms, Strake Jesuit, the guy that designed our passing plays, AND your spelling teacher all in one sentence... Amazing! :D

Anyway, nevermind that... What are some of the responsibilities?

no no strake..im sorry, i actually like strake jesuit...except theyre allowed to recruit players and theyre playing against public schools...but thats all....i like soccer moms, i coach 7 on 7 also and they really come in handy!!! and its not strake jesuits fault...they just dont run the spread high pass offense, actually i dont know, they might...at nothing against you, just letting you know its not easy...well, its not easy to be successfull!!!! ok, some of the responsibilities include knowing where to put certain kids, coaches cant talk to you during 7 on 7 games. and coming up with good plays that will work 7 on 7 wise..(lots of crossing routes, pick, multi-level, stack) and finding time to practice also!!!!

I don't mind Con05's abrasiveness... The posters on this board may not believe this, but I've actually been called abrasive before... (No, I'm not kidding!) :o

But Con, you shouldn't make generalizations and assumptions about fellow posters... Like in fall football, Strake Jesuit has done better than most thought they'd be able to... We've qualified for the state final tourney two years in a row and last year we beat PA Memorial (our pool favorite) and lost to Colleyville (who finished third overall in the state) on the last play of the game... And we did it all with mostly PASS PLAYS! :D

But regardless, any insight you can give me would be appreciated because this will be my first year to be involved...

well, ive seen strake jesuit play a few times 7 on 7, and they were vastly undermanned...hopefully you can turn that part around and get some more kids out there!!! we also beat pa memorial two years ago, a fav to win the whole tourney because of jammal charles!! we won on the last play of the game also!! we also beat cy falls that year, not to mention "teh" woodlands at their own tourney too!!!! and i just meant i dont know how much you actually throw the ball on friday nights...mainly running teams on friday nights have to come up with all new playbooks because you cant run in 7 on 7....and teams that are very pass heavy can keep their friday night playbooks intact for the 7 on 7 season also...which can help alot!!

I've only heard this through my son, but apparently SJ is signed up for 6 SQTs including the Texans SQT in May and the roster is full for every one of them... I'm sure with vacations and baseball and other activities it will still be a mad scramble each time to make sure we get all 20 guys that signed up out, but I feel we'll bring 20 for every tourney we're in...

And my only source on that is my kid, so I can't say for sure... Oh, and I think one or two may be St. Pius, so that isn't really an SQT...
