Are we going to be doing that game, or is that too much trouble?
I don't have any to sell from last year...
Buying: Judson, Austin Bowie, West Brook
Holding: Stony Point, Katy, Abilene
I'm basing this on return on investment...not necessarily most likely to win state.

Im buying Euless Trinity. They are the clear favorite right now I believe. Im also going to buy Klein Forest. I think Davis is going to have them rolling through the season.
Im going to sale Coppell. I just do not think there are quite there yet.
Im holding The Woodlands and DeSoto. But can they finally brake through and win it all.

I think too many people are discounting Klein now that the Senior heavy class of 2010 has graduated..most do not understand that we have another Senior heavy class taking over..and with several D-1 players stepping into major roles. The class of 2010 held the majority of the starting spots their Junior and Senior year. The younger guys who in my estimation are now equally as talented and athletic will have their chance to shine.
Discount them..but do not underestimate our new Coach's ability to get these guys in a position to succeed.

Coppell, Keller, Keller Central and Northwest have larger enrollements than SLC. You have to figure Coppell will make the playoffs and if any one of the other 3 do, then SLC will be DII.
It would then come down to where Hebron and Carroll are seeded within their district whether or not they would play in the first round. One would have to be the top ranked DII school and the other the 2nd DII school.

Based upon what I hear, NW won't. Coppell will, one of those two Keller's should. That leaves us and Guyer for DII.
In size order:
Coppell 3064
Keller 2839
Keller Central 2756
Northwest 2720
Southlake Carroll 2513
Keller Fossil Ridge 2168.5 (.5 enrollment?????)
Denton Guyer 2074

ET and Katy are very tough outs. Hard to call them so I won't. Abilene has an outstanding team coming back. However, I think they are vulnerable to a great passing attack. If we have a great passing attack, it could be interesting. No comment on RRSP, I'll just say they are the Austin ET. Westlake was very impressive indeed in the state game, esp considering they had a coaching change. But they have changed som personnel, I think they are vulnerable. DeSoto is a Coach's dream. They are like CHILL last year, but with a serious passing attack. But the questionmark is coaching. Got to prove himself in big games. KC I think is vulnerable, Lufkin I think is vulnerable, and Arlington is vulnerable.
We just need to see some games...

SLC can definitely beat lufkin and DFW schools this year, but to say it's because of a psychological advantage is foolish. The years they beat Lp they also defeated 15 other teams each of those years and would have done the same to any Houston squad Imo.
Also some people were saying the same thing about the Woodz before they beat us at Abe last year..

As long as DeKota Barnes is not back there I like our chances. Although the Klein defense looked pretty good last season.
On the other subjest to many years between SLC vs LP for it to be a advantage. Plus no dodge ball, and Lufkin will have one of the better defenses in the state next season to go along with Smiley and Walker. I think Walker is going to stun alot of people this season. I will even go as far to say he will push Lasco for the best RB in the district let just call it a hunch.
and would anybody really be suprised is SLC went 4-5 rounds deep. I know I wouldnt. They just seem to always reload

Lufkin also is not the same program it was back when they were playing SLC in the state semis.
06 - 1 playoff win
07 - 1 playoff win
08 - 1 and out
09 - 1 and out
A top 10 ranking in this site is mind boggling. The psychological edge is similar to the one Lufkin has over Katy because they match up well against them and have never lost to them. I'm guessing that's why they get this much love on this site. And when you look at SLC's playoff resume over the last 3 or so years, it's a lot better than Lufkin's, and yet, Lufkin gets ranked 9 and SLC nowhere. Odd because SLC got so much love in the past. Maxtor must have really worn the Katy fans out in that Decade thread. This might have been his punishment :D

There is a lot of hype and i hope it doesn't get into their psyche because it will not be an easy ride for any of these teams...least of all a really young one. After my girlfriend and I checked in at the Rivercenter we had the pleasure of riding the elevator up with a host of dragons. Not last year on this board. My point is, you are taking a subset of arrogant folks on an elevator and using that to represent SLC. I believe I could pretty easily do the same. What makes you think Katy fans are that much different than SLC fans? I have been to Katy's last 3 state appearances and been around lots of Katy fans on the Riverwalk and in the hotel and in the stadium for those 3 years. 3 RR Stony Point
4 Austin Westlake
5 The Woodlands
6 Katy
7 DeSoto
8 Klein Collins
9 Lufkin
10 Arlington Martin
We just need to see some games...
nothing besides another ring would make me happier than a SLC vs abilene matchup:D:D

Highland Park Scots
Very good.
OK, to complete the list, from 1999 - 2009:
Losses only:
1999 - Keller, Fossil Ridge, Coppell
2000 - Wichita Falls, Haltom City, Highland Park, Grapevine, Wichita Falls (playoffs)
2001 - Ennis, Ft. Worth Boswell, Highland Park, Coppell, Waxahachie
2002 - NONE
2003 - Katy
2004 - NONE
2005 - NONE
2006 - NONE
2007 - Miami Northwest, Abilene
2008 - Coppell, Hebron, Cedar Hill
2009 - North Shore, Arlington Bowie
So more than one loss to a given team in the last 10 years?
Coppell has the most wins with 3 (1999, 2001, 2008)
Highland Park has 2 (2000, 2001)
Wichita Falls has 2 (both in 2000)
That's it.

Strong Buy - Trinity, Stoney Point
Hold - CHill, Abilene
Strong Sell - The Woodlands
The Woodlands does not have the personnel to go undefeated this year and will face SP in the second round if they get by a Klein school in the first round.
