I assume that there is some qualifying mechanism for these versions of 7 on 7. Is this correct? I have not seen any such games other than the varsity ones thus far. I wasn't even aware that such were being played on an organized basis. :o It would be interesting to show up early and watch a few of these games.

SLC has teams in every division I believe. Right down to 5th-6th graders. And yes, they do have qualifying tournaments, but they also select some at large teams to fill out their Tournament of Champions.

Hebron has qualified for every division except 5th/6th grade and they may be under a different name. I have an acquaintance whose son is on the JV Hebron 7 on 7 team. They had an SQT the same day as the Lewisville varsity SQT but I didn't know about it till later that evening.

When SI did the article on Texas QBs at the college level one of the main attractions was that they have been reading defenses for years.

Doc, PrimeTime sports has a pretty extensive tournament schedule in the spring for sub-varsity. It use to be if you made it to the semi-finals in one of their many tournaments, you automatically qualified. They'd also invite "at large" teams as well.

No big surprise since there is an entry fee for teams to play in their state tournament. I guess they think the more the merrier, especially since it means more $$$$$ for them!

We have 2 in the 8th grade division. They were the only group to do SQT tournaments this year. My neighbor is on the Flo Mo 2015.

Its amazing to me how much 7 on 7 has taken off. I've seen young kids (7th grade and up) practicing in their uniforms in the park by my house when I'm jogging by. Glad to see it. Sure is better than kids sitting at home playing video games.
