none. Crunchy only. Well, unless it is REAL apple butter, not the sweetened kind but he kind you buy at Sprouts, just mushed apples.

1.. Cherry preserves from the tree in G'ma's back yard
2. G'ma's Blackberry/ rasberry preserves
3. Strawberry preserves
4. Apple jelly( homemade)
5. blackberry "syrup"- my G'pa and I would make a batch without enough pectin/ sure jell in it and would warm this stuff up and pour over waffles. My second fave breakfast after biscuits and gravy...

This is actually tough for me. I am generally a jelly guy but my all time favorite was my grandma's Strawberry Jam. I like the smoother texture of jelly which is a bit odd because I like chunky peanut butter. I think I will have to vote for Jam in honor of Grandma.

Jam, because I make my own and that is the easiest to make. I like peach, but husband and daughter prefer strawberry.

I seem to be the first vote for jelly.....my reasoning:

Jam, no offense, is for people who never mastered the spoon....never mastered the art of spreading the softer jelly in such a way as to keep it from falling off the spread upon item.

I really prefer preserves, peach to be specific, but I was raised on my grandma's homemade preserves made from the peach trees in our orchard....haven't had them since 1974....the ones I can get in the store are so inferior that I just can stromach them....

....so I fall back on my old standby, Welch's Grape Jelly....it may be mass produced, but it has never disappointed me.

The strawberry/fig perserves I know of, were made with real figs and strawberry jello. Sooo I mean I couldn't tell the difference between real strawberry perserves and those made of strawberry jello and real figs.

If you have a fig tree and can't buy or raise strawberrys, jello works good. It might also work the other way around but I've never seen fig jello:)

Actually it's there, but if you want it and can't find it make your own. It's better for you since it won't have the preservatives and high fructose corn syrup. And it's cheaper than buying commercially prepared.

Really good apple butter at Sprouts on 1709. Sometimes. No added sweetener either. Best I've ever had.

Just for you if you really really want it I'll go buy some and either send it to you or drop it off with you, Rough, or Coug next time I am in Houston (which will be about 2 weeks or so).

Panther is real close, he knows where I meant.

okiedokie. I'm going to go by the store tonight and see if they have any. It tends to be seasonal. I'll check regularly until I go to Houston if it isn't there now.

If Hum is in Houston, I'll let him buy me a beer. He'll see I'm not gutless. In fact, I am quite expansive. :D Katy Fan too, but only if he can tell me who the faces are on Mt. Rushmore.:D
