President Obama had a press conference Thursday July 1st to speak of the terrible tragedy that occurred Wednesday June 30th. He began by apologizing to the thousands effected by the crash of 5Atexasfootball.com. "We will stand strong as a nation. BP, Wall Street, and Immigration issues are now secondary to this new tragedy" Obama said. He continues to say that he has proposed a bill to go in front of congress to prevent any further crashes. This 2000 page bill will mandate back up servers, and most importantly force any administrators of 5A to enact emergency measures in the event of another crash. Obama also seeks to include several limits on the massive website from Texas. The purposed costs of this bill are still unknown.

Congress also wants to look into alternative ways to prevent further crashes. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, has looked into ways to limit traffic to the popular Texas website. "The only way to prevent a crash in the future is to limit the number of people visiting this website. By lowering traffic to the website, it will not crash in the future." Pelosi feels that a cap-and-trade method will be the most efficient. The rules and regulations of the cap and trade on 5A will go before the On-line Sports Message Board Committee next week.

Both President Obama as well as Pelosi feel that the GOP has been too lenient on the popular Texas website. They also feel that the republicans had been stalling the current administrations efforts to fix the problems. "The republicans inability to act in this time of need caused the tragic events. They have been stalling for their own political gain. We tried our very best to get 5A back online as fast as possible and with the least amount of cost." Obama said in his news conference. How much it cost to get the website back on line is still unknown.

Republicans in response to these claims have looked at this new legislation as a new way to put limits on the American People. "The democrats new legislation to put limits on 5A are just another sign of the liberal lefts agenda to limit the freedoms of Americans. With all of my power, I will fight this bill and gather a following to prevent any limits or new legislation that could potentially harm the website that exists in my home state." Senator John Cornyn R-Texas said just after President Obama's news conference. Cornyn continues by saying that the president's claims that this was some sort of political maneuver by the GOP are completely off base. "The president has failed to act in a timely and effective manner for everything thus far in his two years as president. From the BP oil spill, to the "spill" of illegal immigrants and kidnappings in Arizona, he has failed to do anything. A left congress has done virtually nothing except harm this country since coming to power."

Many Republicans and fiscally conservative Democrats worry that the proposed bill will cost too much. Many believe that the bill will not make it very far. This is good news for the many thousands of visitors to the popular website who fear that more government intervention into this tragedy would only cause further harm.
