Arizona State is my favorite to win it.
My gut tells me Florida is going to make a good showing, possibly winning the whole thing.
I'll be pulling for the Frogs though.

OU beat TCU both times they faced each other this season, but the only way they meet in Omaha is if both make the championship game. this OU team is a scrappy bunch, but Arizona St. is certainly the favorite to make the final game out of this bracket.

umm yeah...you're immigration law boys just gave up 8 in the second and they're still batting. I didn't see ASU going the distance, but I sure as hell didn't see this demolition happening either:eek:

Never heard of a No. 1 seed being so putrid. Looks like OU probably waltzes out this side easily.

wouldn't say we're going to waltz on through. these teams are here for a reason. although a win tonight would really seal the deal on the beatdown of the state of south carolina. :D

Not going to sit here and say you got a little lucky against USC but, let's face it - your closer was terrible. The last GC batter should have made him come across with 2 strikes - and frankly I don't think he could have done it. He was in complete meltdown mode.
Now that you have first game jitters aside - you'll handle Clemson handily.
OU vs. UCLA in the final? Most likely.

It is sad to see that Rosenblatt is in its final year. It will be VERY hard for me to see it go. So much history there. My great grandfather played a big role in building that stadium before his death during WWII. His name is on the plaque just inside the stadium along with Johnny Rosenblatt and many others.

well Clemson had to deal with it also...we actually put together some kind of offense today, as opposed to last night. just too big of a whole to climb out of. i feel good about our chances against SC though, hopefully we'll win.

if Purke can beat them on Friday, he will command Strasburg money in 2011 draft.
The 3-2, 2 out, grand slam in the eighth was great and considering that it was a potential career ending at-bat for Curry made it even sweeter.
What a great way to do your first appearance up right!!
Go Frogs.........

I rarely feel for Sooner fan, but I do tonight.
USC 3-2 in 12 innings. The OU reliever Duke had them down to their final strike. They tie it on a hit, and then win it on a hit after the Sooners went up 2-1 in the top of the 12th.
Heck of a game.
All South Carolina semi now - Clemson vs. Gamecocks.

letter to the Editor in this morning's startlegram. Sat is cheers and jeers, so look for Sunday and Monday's letters to the editor for this guy to get a rash of ****.
No respect
I thought I found someone I could cheer for at the College World Series. Then after watching a few pitches of last Saturday's game, I had to quickly change my mind.
Maybe I have been out of umpiring and coaching for too long and things have changed, but what was that clown who pitched for TCU doing with the cap of his baseball uniform turned crooked?
Where is the respect for his team uniform, his coaches, his school and for the game of baseball in general?
I am thinking that Texas Christian University, its coaching staff and its athletic director probably have let this go on clear through this clown's time at their fine university, so shame on them.
To the TCU school staff: This is particularly disappointing since yours is an establishment of a true Christian school. In addition to the general disrespect of the uniform, this young man's national TV display of vulgarity is especially disturbing.
Perhaps you do not know the meaning of a baseball cap slanted to one side or the other. If not, ask around campus, and you will find out.

The kid looks stupid but he is a good picther. I personally think the writer of the letter was over dramatic. I usually root for a team and not because of one player.

people thought fidrych was weird and look at the legend that is the bird. This kid can flat out pitch, maybe the writer should have watched that. As for the dramatic comments about the school and admins, he needs to have a conversation with Phoenix to really see how well TCU is represented;)

Finals are set. UCLA smacks TCU and USC holds off Clemson 4-3.
UCLA has their ace set for Monday night - I think they will take it in 3, which probably means the GC's take it in 2.
Would have loved to see TCU find a way, but they were in a big hole all afternoon in that brutal heat. UCLA was plain foolish for leaving Bauer in for 8 innings - but that's how much respect they gave the Froggies.

South Carolina takes game 1 handily - 7-1. Blake Cooper, working on 3 days rest for the second time in a row, allows 1 hit through 8 innings.
Garrett Cole, 1st round pick of the Yanks, caught some really unlucky breaks, but he still pitched only fair for the Bruins.
