The life and times of the Chilito

When I was a little kid about 10-15 years ago, Taco Bell had an item on their menu called the "Chilito". It was simply a chili and cheese burrito and it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Shortly after the introduction of the Chilito, Taco Bueno countered with their "Chili/Cheese Burrito" which was about 95% as good as the Chilito. A few months later however, Bueno introduced the "Chili/Cheese Crunchy Potato Burrito" which was simply a Chili/Cheese Burrito with a fried hash brown in the middle. It was an orgy for the mouth.

Sadly, these items were short lived. I hear the Chilito is still available in Southern California Taco Bells, but it has been gone from here for at least a decade. Buenos Chili/Cheese Crunchy Potato has slowly evolved into the abortion of a burrito (which contains no chili or queso) that currently resides on their menu. I miss the Chilito.

You can still get a Chilito at Taco Bell. It's just called a chili cheese burrito now. They are on the menu in Katy. Even if they aren't on the menu at your local Taco Bell, you can still order them.

I heard Arsenio Hall say on his show that McDonalds discontinued the McRib sandwich because "not enough McNegros were buying them".

I've asked every Taco Bell within a 50 mile radius of Abilene and I have had no luck.

The gas just one would give you is off the charts. If you could run a hose from your butt to your cars gas tank, you could go from Dallas to Chicago on one Chilito.

im so hungry >< yea alot of places have these places short lived or certain areas will remove them from menus due to lack of sales the philly cheese steak was removed from jack and the box and that thing was like the best thing ever same for the bacon mushroom melt at wendys which was brought back.
