SV- I don't know that its that hard to play here. Very nice field, nice locker rooms, and the crowd really wasn't that loud.

Judson- With the non-air conditioned locker room and the sea of red that is the Judson fans, it is very hard to play here. Plus, you are playing against the Rockets, and thats never easy.

Rhodes- IDK, never been there...

Even though i'm from lufkin, i have been told by the coaches after the games and they say, "man it is hard to play here... it is fun, but hard." and i have to agree with KT2000, it is not any better in Longview and Tyler. When these teams play, everyone comes out and supports thier team....

Rhodes is probably the exact thing as Judsons stadium, the sea of red and all. Even when Katy isn't playing there you know its theirs. I've been to games not including Katy and both teams rarely are able to fill up one side. There is only one time i remember there being both sides filled up and that was when Katy played Cinco when they were both undefeated.

Judson stadium is always full on the Judson side. The visiting side varies, Roosevelt, Madison, and SV bring big crowds.

dragon stadium itself isn't imposing, but facing a team that is 25-1 all time at their home is tough. when that team is slc it is even tougher.

Goof OLD ABE is amazing to play deep in the East texas piney woods. and with the upgrades it received last season it is even a better place.

But as a player it was going to Longview or to Tyler those are hard places to play.

Agreed. I've always pictured us as as the Little SEC.

As for places that Longview has placed at, aside from Lufkin and Tyler being the toughest, I would say that Marshall's Maverick Stadium CAN be hard. In the past few years it hasn't been the same but it used to be and is slowly coming back to be one of the tougher places to play in East Texas.

But obviously, Ole Abe and Rose has to be our two toughest places.

i know it's already been answered but it was Coppell who beat SLC in their final year of 4A. The game went into overtime and Coppell won on a poor fourth down spot for the dragons by the officials...call me bias...

i say nay. the two have only met twice and both have been blowouts. the hype of both has been more exciting than the game, although the espn2 game was an electrifying atmostphere. I think one of the key things that makes a rivalry is the history of a rivalry, of which this has none.

Can't believe no one has said the Astrodome. I mean it is with out a doubt one of the toughest places to play. I mean from a player's perspective you have to play on that crappy out of date turn and get ready in a out of date run down locker room. And as a fan you have to set in those out of date run down seats that have been there it seems like since the place opened back in 65'. I know it used to be a high school kids dream to play there, but I'd be willing to bet it isn't near as high on the list as it once was.

Why? The SEC actually wins championships on a consistent basis, the East Texas district doesn't :)

The toughest place to play in this state has to be the current Eagle Stadium in Allen. Nothing else comes close

What about GPISD Stadium? I know Katy brings a big crowd to help nullify home field advantage but I bet it's a tough place for your District opponents to try and knock off the Stangs.
It is a nice, new stadium much like the stadium the Woodlands plays in.

Yep, Judson is a tough place to play for sure!

SC brought a ton of people there in 01' and 03' for their district matchup. Both games were fantastic to say the least. 01' was a triple OT win for CJ and 03' was a huge comeback win by SC in the 2nd half. GREAT GAMES....BOTH OF THEM

Blivins in Amarillo is the most well kept ball parks I've been in and that includes the Grande and Ratliff. But Permian, for the most part has seen pretty rough times up there, even in a win. You lose and it's a terrible long drive home from anywhere. Next to that the Alamo Dome just plain blows ill winds for old Mojo!:(

Interesting you say that... A couple of years ago I was helping coach a peewee game at DS and we were on the visitor side. From that vantage point the home side looked very imposing. Don't know if it's just an optical illusion, but because the home side is built into the upward sloping hill, it gives the appearance of looking much taller than if the it were built on flat ground.

Be interested to get feedback from folks who've been on the slide line during a high school game and see if they think the same...

I'm not sure who's to blame on this. All the other NEISD football fields are really nice.

As far as I know field maintenance is funded by NEISD.

Lee needs to go 4A anyways. The physical beating Lee takes in EVERY NEISD game is so unfair to those kids. I leave all Lee games I happen to be at after the 1st Qtr.

It's sickening to hear fans ridicule the once-proud Lee program. I can't remember the last time Lee won a 26-5A game.
