Anyone know the story on this?

I heard parts of it from two different news stations.

The first part i Hear was 20-30 Madison sstudents got into a fight with 2 Mac students.

Then last night I was watching a different news station and they said one of the Mac students and one Madison students got into an arguement and decided to have a fight or something. So the Madison student got about 30 of his friends, and the Mac guy got one of his friends. And the Mac guy ended up getting stabbed and is in stable condition in the hospital.

Anyone else know the details? I know who it was but I think it may be better that we don't say his name on here.

What was he doing out on Monday night before TAKS and before a playoff basketball game. Does not seem to smart to me.

The coaches had a meeting with the players after school to let them know what happened. I don't think the kids know all the facts but just how their fellow team mate is doing. He is very fortunate to be alive!

He is. And it is a good thing he is.

But I have to say though....it wasn't the smartets thing to do - like bubbacoach said: Before TAKS and a playoff game....

I don't see a problem with him being out. Many kids are out with family or other obligations. The issue is the situation that he ended up in and how he got there. Emotions effect decision making and I would say he has learned something from this.....at least I hope so. The big man up stairs gave him a second chance.

Well, one of my friends at Mac told me a little more to the story so I understand it a little better.

Because he's a snioer (which I forgot) he didn't need to take taks. And the bball game was a few days away and he was fighting over a girl. The only thing that I see wrong with it is 1) he was fighting 2) the girl might've lead him into this.

I think a girl is a good reason to fight.

Nope, not kidding. I am not saying go and fight because some girl likes a guy and you like her.... but their are many different situations that can happen with or relating to a girl that justify fighting.... it has happened to me in the past.

Unless you or a family member is being threatened, there is no reason to fight. This is exactly what I meant about emotions affecting someone's decision making.
We have a situation here where someone said somethings and emotions took over and one kid came within 1/4 inch of dying right there and then.

I agree, there should be no reason to fight. And plus...you can't win over a girl's affection by fighting....cause trust me, if it did work I'd be taking fighting lessons to make sure I'm the best....

Okay, hypathetically speaking (lol!)... lets say you are at Schlitterbahn with a beautiful girl who you care about a lot... and you are in the torrent river (the thing that goes around and around) and you are about 20 feet ahead of your girlfriend and some guy gets close to her and really gropes her... not just a brush up.. but a full blown grope for a few seconds... and he does it really close to an exit and slips out of the river.... next think you know your girlfriend comes up to you all crying and freaked out.. you ask her what is wrong and she tells you that.. what are you going to do? I know what I did. Dude was scum.

I understand what you're saying but if you go after the guy I think it's a bad decision. The action had been taken and the individual had left. Get the police involved and let them do their job. You don't know anything about that person and you don't know what he might have on him or if there are others with him. You put yourself in a very dangerous situation and are reacting to an emotion.
If the person had continued and your girl friend was in danger, then yes you have to react to help her out.

Well, I see what you are seeing too... and if you have that kind of self control.. I congratulate you. I was very unhappy, to say the least. The "fight" (if that is what you want to call it) didn't last long. It really pissed me off becuase he thought she was just a girl alone and could take advantage. He didn't know who I was so I had the oppertunity to catch him off guard, as he did her. You are right though... if he would have had a bunch of big friends... it could have been a dangerous situation and I probably should have gone about it better. I think most guys would have reacted similar.

This is pretty much what happened... she pointed him out and he was talking to dudes... so I slowly approached trying to appear uninterested... I got within about 10-15 feet and took a running swing at him and knocked him down... I got a few more hits in and he didn't get up... his friends didnt help him. Some friends, eh?

Dude came up behind my baby and assaulted her... I came up to him from the front. He got what he deserved. I wanted to get one great hit and I did.

So I take it the Madison kid was unable to play in the playoff game on Friday night?

Madison did lose to Taft, even though Madison was the #1 ranked team in the city. Did this kid's need to prove how macho he was cost his team a shot at the State Tournament???
