View Full Version : I have discovered a new realm of sexy...

...and I can't believe it took me this long.
I went with a very attractive co-worker to my favorite cigar bar last night (her willingness to go with me now leads me to question her sanity, but the gloriousness of her butt makes her sanity irrelevant). This place has always been one of my favorite hang outs. They have an amazing selection of cigars with some of the plushest leather coaches around. Big screen TV, BYOB, cigars, leather... How does it get any better? Woman... that's how.
Let me first say that I don't consider myself a "smoker". I have tried and hate cigarettes and I'm not fond of the smell following those that do smoke them. I find attractive women smoking cigarettes to be a huge turn-off. I do however love cigars. I just don't smoke them very often at all so I don't consider myself a smoker.
Anyway, so were sitting on one of the couches discussing the political, economic and environmental pros and cons of the Kyoto Protocol. I have quite possibly the coldest bottle of Shiner in existence in one hand and a freshly lit and oh so aromatic Dominican slowly burning in the other. In between sips of my cold beer and gentle puffs of my smooth cigar, I speak with the intelligence and relevance of George Will while exuding the sophisticated confidence of a pudgy Cary Grant (I could use this time to talk about the kick-a** pinstripe sportcoat I'm wearing but I fear as though that would be another five paragraphs).
It is at this point that my mind turns from giving myself a standing ovation for the brilliant sentence I just uttered (which is now lost to me) and begins to focus even more on her as she gracefully cuts and lights up a cigar of her own to accompany the equally cold Shiner gracing her sensually smooth hand. Suddenly, I come crashing back down to Earth and feel like out-matched trailer trash as I watched her handle her beverage and cigar with a kind of elegance I haven't seen since Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I was fully prepared to engage in what I expected to a be a brilliant and thought provoking diatribe on the current administration's environmental policy, but my senses were overwhelmed as I realized that a woman smoking a cigar is quite possibly the sexiest thing since Jessica Alba in a bikini. What was, up until that point, a very interesting and eloquent debate turned into me staring at her like a 4th grader stares at that hot teacher down the hall, all while losing my train of thought and mumbling incoherently until we decided to take things outside and walk the city streets for a while.
Gentleman, I will not advocate smoking or the purchase of tobacco products, but what I have discovered here, defies logical explanation. I share with you my discovery in hopes that you too will do as I did and find another way to be in awe of and enjoy the female species.

I found very quickly that I can't get by with some of juvenile antics with her. In a few nights we are going to dinner at Cypress St. Station here in Abilene (damn good food) and then we are walking down to take in an evening of the orchestra. This means I'm gonna have to save like crazy and take my suits to the dry cleaners. Hopefully, the evening will be capped off with another trip to the cigar bar.
In other words, dinner at Taco Bell followed by a raunchy sex comedy won't quite work, but I swear that we will go to Chuck E. Cheese and play ski ball before she dumps me. :D

No, because I don't want to tear the microwave up. I know I'll need it again pretty soon. I've been throwing those buckets of KFC in there, too.
Chicken story for you guys:
There's a KFC/Taco Bell close to my house. Those thugs wanted .99 a taco earlier in 2005 and I told them it was too high and asked if they ever had Taco Sundays where the tacos are .49 and they said, "no." A couple days ago, it was after midnight and I needed food, so I headed over there to get some food. The menu says .89, but I got 10 tacos and they only charged me .79 a taco. After I paid, one of the other guys in there asked if I wanted a bucket of chicken for $5 because they needed to clear the line and I asked how many pieces I'd get. He said 15 and I wasn't going to pass that up even though I just got 10 tacos. They ended up giving my 3 buckets of chicken for $4.48 and it must've been 30 pieces.:D I still haven't unpacked my dishes, so I just keep the chicken in buckets and heat it up at work and home when I need to. I'm not always so simple, but I can be when I need to.

Things have certainly changed. Downtown has become a decent little arts scene. From the museums and galleries to the Philharmonic and productions at the Paramount. Hell, there are even high rise, luxury apartments and lofts downtown. I think we're starting to develop a nice little yuppie crowd down there.
Firebird

Now all Abilene needs is a decent bookstore. And for cripes sake, for Joe's Italian Grill on South 1st to reopen. That was the best restaraunt in town. Food twice as good as Olive Garden or Johny Carino's, but half the price.
Paramount theater, also down town, is another great date spot. Wait until they show a classic chick flick, you will score huge points.
Are you at ACU, Hardin Simmons, McMurray, or did you come to Abilene to work.
Dang, jtk, you got me all misty eyed for Abilene, Abilene... purtiest town I ever seen....

I don't know if this is considered an acceptable first date anymore, but I used this one to death. You find a great well lit park, pick her up for dinner, and go get to go from your favorite italian restaurant. You take her there, spread the blanket on the ground, and eat to the light of a lantern. Afterwards. You push her on the swing and talk. That one worked every time. Afterward the girl was always calling me and asking me when we would go out again.
Once you've dated a girl a while, you wow her by doing kind of a scavenger hunt. You leave her the first clue on her doorstep and the numerous other ones at the different places you gone, and finally culminating in her finding you wherever it may be with dinner YOU cooked. That one works too.

Gentleman, I will not advocate smoking or the purchase of tobacco products, but what I have discovered here, defies logical explanation. I share with you my discovery in hopes that you too will do as I did and find another way to be in awe of and enjoy the female species.

...and I can't believe it took me this long.
In beNtween sips of my cold beer and gentle puffs of my smooth cigar, I speak with the intelligence and relevance of George Will while exuding the sophisticated confidence of a pudgy Cary Grant (I could use this time to talk about the kick-a** pinstripe sportcoat I'm wearing but I fear as though that would be another five paragraphs).

Well...maybe not as much if you realize what he was so flustered with was a beautiful woman's lips wrapped around and puffing on a phallic symbol. hubba.

I lack your pimpness I'm afraid. The evening ended in innocent, but charming fashion.
Use to be one of our favorite dates. Had season tickets and it was always the high light of the month. We looked forward to it each month and it is still some of my favorite memories. If this women is anything like my wife, buddy, life is good!
I salute you!
