Last year, my son played in these stadiums:

Reliant Stadium (great stadium; even for a high school game)
Kyle Field (too big for a high school atmosphere; but fun)
Texas Stadium (kinda dirty and smelled bad; but fun)
Waco ISD Stadium (great stadium for high school football)
Bowers Stadium-Sam Houston State (great stadium for high school football)

As far as high school specific stadiums go, I have to give the nod to Galena Park ISD Stadium.

of course your not going to admit it but its true there was a whole article in the NB paper about the staph on the field with a quote from the westlake coach saying it was a problem baxk in 03. but no there is no way it could have staph. this is the problem with people on this board there not going to be honest and admit the truth in fearthat there school might look bad

Stallworth Stadium (Baytown) is being upgraded this offseason with new grassy turf (real grass before) and scoreboard... Once renovated, it will be the perfect HS stadium... Not too big, not too small (16,500), easy access and plenty of parking, and its Friday Night Lights can be seen for miles in every direction... Even more impressive when you consider it was built in 1970 for 1 million bucks...

no im not blaming staph for anything. im just saying its not that great a field because we had our SS and FB tear there acl on the turf and when we got back 4 people came down with staph so we contacted the coach at westlake and there was staph on the field. One bleach shower solved that.

dada Robertson has been used before during the playoff. I remember North Shore playing Alvin there one year. As to why it is not used more I really don't know guess most just like Rice and the other stadiums better.

And StrakeDrake I agree Stallworth is a very good place to watch a game for being as old as it is. Was witness to some good games there between us and Lee durign the Alfred,Stoerner, and Roberson.

I know most don't care for it but i thought Conroe's Moorehead is a decent stadium. Not the biggest nor does it have all the bells and whistles some of the stadiums have. Though it has a good atmosphere about it. And I would even say good old Delmar is pretty good now that they have gotten rid of the grass in favor of turf.

But of course the best would be The Big House other wise known as GPISD Stadium.

Old Dement Field comes to mind. Not the best stadium around.

The last game played there between Baytown Lee and North Shore in 2001 was electric.

you bet I do that was one od Ced's many miracles games of that season. I truely fell had he not been knocked cuckoo by Judson on the opening kickoff that year we would have most likely won our first state title that year. With the defense that team has I really feel we could have shut down Lewisville.

I was there for that one that one too and you better believe the place was jumping. If I remember correctly we were 1 and 2 in the area coiming into that one. Drew did have a pretty good game tha tnight, but his numbers were far below what they had been in every other game that season. How he was able to walk off the field after the beatign he took that night was amazing.

There is something about the Gopher-Warrior bowl that intrigues me. Look off to the east over the scoreboard and its pitch dark. You can't see anything its like land's end. What is over there? I've always wanted to know.

UTA's Maverick Stadium was old but its my favorite. I liked the turf, and its a college stadium. It was where we played our first game and had our first win so it had extra meaning.

personally I think Kyle Field is terrible for high school games, for the fans at least. The first deck at Kyle is just not tall enough and even for Big 3A playoff games many have had to sit in the endzone. I have only seen A&M open up the second deck for a PNG-Clemens playoff game.
However I wouldnt expect to see to many more highschool games at Kyle..A&M is even pushing ACM-Bryan out of Kyle in two years.

Texas A&M is NOT forcing A&M Consolidated and Bryan to move their game out of Kyle Field. A&M asked that they schedule the game on a Thursday night when A&M is playing an away game. For 2006 and 2007, they will play in late October instead of the first Thursday in November.

If you like Waco ISD stadium you would like Tom Kimbrough stadium. Designed and built by the same architects and construction company, but Kimbrough is newer and a little fancier. More brick, nicer press box and the best looking parking lot/landscape for a stadium I have ever seen. When it opened three years ago, the paper said it was the most expensive high school stadium ever built in Texas (land and construction was somewhere between 25 and 30 million)

It only seats about 10,000 (same as Waco) so Plano ISD schools only play in it when they are playing teams from outside of PISD. All PISD vs PISD varsity games are played at Clark (14,000+). Clark is about to receive major renovations.

WISD seats 11,500........the location of Waco ISD will always pull in the games. Waco is the most central part of the state. I'm looking for them later on to expand the end zones.
There was talk of adding an indoor facility under the homeside stands.

Will absolutely be ready for next season. It is ready now. We are just cleaning up the site right now and putting the final touches on the whole facility. They will be holding graduation ceremonies in the arena this spring and several other district functions very soon. Do not know if they plan on hosting any po games next year or not. I am sure they would be glad to so they can start recouping some of the money laid out on this facility. Conference center, Auditorium, Full Kitchen, Arena, Stadium and 2 million square feet of concrete parking came to a total of just about $72,000,000! The teams that do play there will really like the facilities and the fans are going to LOVE them (or really like them at least). Just wish I knew someone high enough in the district so I could check out a game from the skybox overlooking the south end zone! Go to the other side of this room and you have a skybox overlooking the arena! Really cool place.

RocketTRN suggested: People from Midland HATE the Alamodome.

Understandable statement, I suppose. But an incorrect assumption made by a bored Rockette. :)

The Bulldogs played Denton Ryan at the Alamodome in 2004 and likely would have played Plano there this past season had the venue been available.

BTW, here's a link for photos of Grande Stadium in Midland:

the Berry center(Cy Fair ISD, northwest houston)....these pics are little dated now.....the stadium is days from finished now. UNBELIEVABLE. Its a basketball arena backed up next to the football stadium. It is hard to imagine that we spend so much money on athletic facilities.

I think the best stadium would probly have to be the Denton Ryan ISD stadium or Northwest ISD stadium

denton ryan has a really nice stadium, but I think that the sidelines are way too close to the stands

Have'nt been inside NW's stadium, but it looks nice from 114....Dentons stadium is nice until you realize there is no sideline or room after the endzone...sadly, there are going to be some serious injuries there until they spend the money to correct the flaws with the layout....

For the record, we did beat Smithson Valley--the first time we played them. They beat us later that same season in the playoffs and in the regular season the following year.

As for stadiums, I've been going to Chap games for years, and I haven't noticed an unusual number of injuries. If our parents thought there was a problem, it would be replaced. Further, the Smithson Valley stadium is one of the worst 5A stadiums I've been at as a visitor. It's hard to find, parking is a mess--and, to be honest, it's an old 4A stadium. I'm originally from Fredericksburg (which is 4A like Smithson Valley used to be), and they've had a better stadium that that since 1965! I hope athletic success rewards Smithson Valley with a new stadium. Now that we're back in Region IV, we may see each other again. I like the competition, but not the visit to that facility!

I'm not sure if this is a rumor or fact. Is SLC in debt because of the cost of there stadium? And is that why they make you pay for parking?

Does UTA have a football stadium? On one of the highlights of Cantu, it seems the stadium is decent.

I'm not sure if this is a rumor or fact. Is SLC in debt because of the cost of there stadium? And is that why they make you pay for parking? All stadiums (and schools) are paid for through a bond issue. A bond was issued for Dragon Stadium. Carroll ISD has been paying their bonds off early and that portion of their taxes are not at the highest rate allowed.

A couple of years ago the Carroll ISD had a huge budget problem. The problem was not with the construction bonds but it was with overall operating revenues and expenses. That is when they put in the parking fees. 1/3 of the taxes collected in Southlake go to Robin Hood. The financial situation in the district is much better now.

Make sense, pay if you use it (parking fees).

for the record it doesnt matter if you beat sv in pre season i would think playoffs mean more.........

and i have already said parking was some of the worst but i would like to ask how the rest of the stadium is bad???? it seemed to be just fine since westlake couldnt fill up yalls side and i guess the turf that is used in the alamodome for highschool is not that great also
