It'll be natural grass, so I doubt we'll see games played there. I expect HISD may try and wheel/deal for a game or two.

How degrading would it be to lose your last(playoff)football game in a soccer stadium?

Do they have playoff games at Frisco Park? Texas Southern Universtiy will also share the Stadium....I think UH should have jumped on that.

Why don't the Dynamo just use Reliant? It is a nice stadium isn't it?
Or couldn't they just use the Astrodome? It needs to be used for something. Maybe HISD should try and play some games there instead.

They don't like the "empty seats" I think Robertson stadium, where they play now held 32,000....so it left a lot of empty seats. They also didnt like sharing with UH, YET, the new stadium they will share with TSU. I think you will get more "Casual" fans into seats downtown, than in Third Ward at UH.

I heard UH was asked first and wanted to remain on campus.

Reliant's very nice, but that's 55k empty seats for a soccer team that draws pretty well.

Which dosent make sense.....especially if you want out of C-USA.
Bog move in the MLS ot have soccer specific stadiums for a variety of reasons. I'd point out that Pizza Hut Park (FC Dallas) is one of the best venues I have been to see a sporting event. On a related note, the CA title games have been played at the Home Depot Center (LA Galaxy), and I think they still are.

The Dynamo would be glad to share their stadium in the offseason (since the MLS playoffs end before TX HS playoffs start), but teams are afraid to play football the way it's meant to be played- outdoors and on grass.
Honestly, having seen games on both, the only advantage I see to turf is it shows up better on TV. Other than that, turf is "manure".

It is way more fun to play a game on grass than on turf. People just like turf because they are afraid to get a little dirty. They don't want to be rolling around in the mud. In my mind that is real football.
