My question is, outside of people who hate the Cowboys why would anybody want to win the contest to blow it up?

I always loved driving by that place from the time I was a kid until the last time I saw it a few months ago.

We drove past right before noon. It looks like a Texas Stadium balloon with all the air let out.

Same here. I remember the first time I saw it while driving, got on the wrong highway because me and my wife were looking at it. Should have hit I 35 heading south, ended up on 183 headed back towards Euless. :D

That thing went down like the Twin Towers.

It was such an ugly stadium from the outside. The inside seating was fine with good vision lines.

The place was a dump at the end, just as the Astrodome is, but I love those places and grew up with them. We're not talking about DKR!:p

I love Cowboys Stadium, but that place has none of the history that Texas Stadium had. Reliant might be better, but the Astrodome will always be more historic.

Hopefully over the years it will gain the same history Texas Stadium had.

I think it was an inside job and I'm sure W knew about it. My favorite memory was the 06 Trinity / Carroll game. More electric than any Cowboy game I saw there.

+1

My brother-in-law has always been a Cowboy fan, but was never able to attend a game and see the stadium....until I brought him to the ET/SLC game. He was wowed. His only time to be there.

The only pro football game I ever attened was at Texas stadium. I think it was 84-85, I can't remember. The Cowboys were playing the San Francisco 49ers. If I remember correctly the Cowboys cleaned the field with them.

The last time I was there was the SLC vs. Katy game in 2005. Based on that outcome I never had much interest in going back...:D

I was watching the Oilers thru the 'luv 'ya blue' days and the Glanville 'back in black' 'smurf' WR's days. Those were great times, I always enjoyed being at those games, even in the end zone seats. Back then, you could actually buy seats for less than a down payment on a new house.

THIS. I have a friend that has season tickets to all the Cowboy games. Now I know the financial predicament this guy is in but he will continue to play those outrageous prices for season tickets.

Had the occasion to drive by the site early this morning. Very strange driving up and not being able to see it from a distance.

The only thing remaining is a huge shallow depression filled with rubble and debris. Only the 3 remaining buttresses are left standing in mute testament to the stadium that once stood there.

Kinda spooky and eerie for me.
