we share a stadium but, come fall, we will be sharing TWO district stadiums with the opening of our brand new, beautiful stadium!!

http://www.cfisd.net/bond/esc/ESC%20with%20stadium.jpg

In this picture, the stadium is to the right of the arena (the arena will be used for athletic events and graduations among other things). The stadium has a 3 level press box and supposedly, the season ticket seats will be real seats with backs and everything! We really needed this stadium too because, short of playing games on Wed nights we were running out of options - too many schools!!

Will Judson share its field with Wagner?

I know that Comal ISD is building Canyon Lake's stadium on campus.

CJ and Wagner will use Judson Stadium. Clemens and Steele will use Clemens' Stadium. You can call them JISD and SCUCISD Stadiums but they are what they are and that is the 'OLD SCHOOL'S STADIUMS' in both cases! I don't agree with making Wagner and Steele travel to their main rival's campus to play a potential home game in the others parking lot! I feel bad for the kids at Wagner and Steele for having to do this. They will not have their own indentity!

None of the NEISD schools have big bleachers at their schools either. Cause they all play at Commalander.

I don't want Judson to waste anymore money, but some new bleachers would be nice....

Its a good thing they don't allow beer to HS football games. Judson games would always turn into riots, and I don't think being a referee would be safe.

In Garland this year, the biggest game in the district (Garland vs. South, the big rivalry) was bumped to Thursday because we share stadiums. The team that played that friday night was our newest school, Sachse High School, in only its second year of having a varsity team. I complained back then and I am complaining now only because it is offseason adn there is nothing better to do. THe way GISD determines the district schedule is by coin flips. Does it seem silly that the highest revenue game (G-twon vs. south) was bumped to a hated Thursday night?

In this upcoming football season, we add Rockwall HS, and what I assume will be an additional stadium, so hopefully this will not come up again, but who knows.

Project will be complete by the end of this month. School function is scheduled for the ESC March 15. There may still be a few loose ends on the stadium for the next few weeks (railings and such). Stadium seats 12,000 (and yes, CFMom, the reserve seats are individual fold-downs with backs and beer......er, beverage holders). The areana seats 7,000 for basketball (all individual fold-down seats). If they take out the court and put the stage in and bring in the portable bleachers the capacity goes to 10,000. The press box looks to be 3 stories but actually only has floor space on 2 levels. One of the really neat things about the stadium is the "porch area" at the top of the second level. It is a covered area where fans can stand to watch the game. Should be a great vantage point to watch games from. You are actually on top of the action and still close enough to see things. Oh yeah, the turf goes down this week.

And what other team in the state would deserve a top notched facility than the Rockets? There is plenty of open space between Wagner and CJ that would make an ideal site for a true neutral district stadium. This would also allow JISD to rent both facilities out for even more playoff football and soccer games as well as track meets. The facility would probably be able to pay for itself within 10 years if it was used as much as possible.

Our JV played at Hanby this year and I made the trip. Had to sit about 2 hours in traffic around downtown Dallas but it was worth it. It was a very nice stadium and I got many pictures. Right across the street from the Mesquite 2001 Championship Water Tower too, I got a pic of that as well. Overall it was very nice
