Is anyone watching this?

Tony Stewart has been involved in most of the wrecks, and even caused one (sent Kenseth spinning off the track.) Overall its been a good race though, and Dale Jr. is up front.

Yeah, Tony is driving like an idiot, but that is what Nascar likes I believe..he put Gordon to the back, got into it with 48..stupid..

IDK how he gets away with it. The Kenseth one looked like he did it on purpose, but he might not have meant it to be that bad. Then Kenseth got penalized for reckless driving coming out of the pits.

I think you're seeing some paybacks from Tony. If you have seen all the race, Tony got pounded around by Kenseth and Jeffie Gordon, amongst others, early on. I'm not justifying his actions, just stating what might be his motivation.

he's just making himself out to be an ***! especially after a great season last year. With all the statements this week about rough driving, then he goes and does it. It looks as if he is mocking them. why?

I love yall Tony haters. He's the best driver bar none. After he wrecked with Gordon, the way he flew through the field was the most impressive thing so far during this race.

Stewart did get penalized, and then Kenseth being a baby didn't obey his black flag for retaliation under yellow and went a lap down. His fault.

HA, you wanna talk about a jackass who can't drive, Jamie McMurrary...that dude has been causing problems all day, and in the years I've watched NASCAR and since he's been a cup driver, he's been a problem child.

You know that's a matter of opinion. Half the folks will say Tony didn't let up. Half will say Jeffie cut him off.

Jeffie cut him off, it's not Tony's responsibility to let off on a restrictor plate race. If Jeffie didn't have the room to move up......he should have stayed put. It as Jeffies' mistake.

Haha I like Kyle Busch and his style because he reminds me of a young Tony and Dale Sr., but he got black flagged for running Tony down below the yellow line.

And Kurt Busch's reponse on live TV to McMurrary's wreck? A very sarcastic "Gee that's too bad"

I actually tried to watch the last half of this race. I just don't get the allure of Nascar. Do you guys just watch it for the wrecks? It seems pretty boring overall. Just my two cents.

I love watching NASCAR. Its not just for the wrecks, I love the competition. In most sporting events, the winner out-works the loser. In NASCAR, this isn't always true. The best racer could mess up and crash, and someone else can win. PLUS, going almost 200mph bumper to bumper, 3 wide is awesome to watch. Cars getting sideways at 190 and regaining control is amazing because you can see cars lose control on the highway doing 80mph and crash. I always watch every Cup race unless I am not at the house.

believe it or not, there IS actually some strategy and alot of risktaking involved.

but yeah, the idea of driving 190 with cars 6-12" away is pretty interesting.

I get both sides I could take it or leave it, but what the hell else is on TV today?

and no the idea of driving 190 mph with 6-12 inches of room isnt THAT exciting when you arent even there and there is freakin 500 laps. sorry, that just doesnt excite me.

Can you drive 190mph 6-12" apart? Didn't think so. Can you regain control of your vehicle after you get hit while travelling at 190mph? Didn't think so. It is exciting to some of us, and for those who don't like it you can leave this thread. BYE BYE

It is like any other sport. When you find an interest in one or more of the drivers, you will start to get into it more. I recommend a book called NASCAR for DUMMIES. It gives a historical look at the sport and a pretty up to date account of the changes it has undergone. It truly does take a cool head and finess to race those cars. Just hearing the cars start up excites me. The power under those hoods is amazing. Driving is obviously more fun than watching would be but when you think about the things that the other posters talked about, you have to respect these guys and gals.

They're great on the long tracks, but they don't own anything. Basically, I'm not going to root for something on the track that's a piece of crap on the road. I'm a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth person and I won't drive a Chevy.

The #2 is still a Dodge. It is not a Chevrolet. Kyle Busch's #5 is a Chevy.

AND here are some stats for Chevy haters to chew on:
Cup Championships by Make:
Chevrolet-22
Ford- 8
Pontiac- 5
Plymouth- 5
Oldsmobile- 4
Dodge- 4
Buick-3
Hudson-3
Chrysler- 3

Just like any sport,if you havent been watching and learning about the drivers, teams, etc.then it`s like watching a soccer game for me on tv.I might hang for 5 minutes, then it`s off to another program.Soccer does nothing for me.But,every one that has ever driven a car at least can get interested in Nascar if you give it a chance.I`ve been watching it on tv since the early 70`s and it has really progressed.

If you play fantasy nascar, then you can cheer for the drivers you have, to do good,to try to beat your oppenents in the fantasy game.
