I know by answering this i am legitimizing this thread...
My kids prefer Legolas( the elven archer)
I was Elrond, also from LOR. It's fitting, he was the ruler of elves.
wow, what a slow sports day!!!!

I got a strange feeling that if you go look in a mirror, you will find out that you aren't any fantasy creature.........just a plain old regular human being. Life can suck....get used to the idea.
This is the most idiotic crud I've seen on here.
Life itself should be the fantasy. Why do so many people feel they have to create one?

That sucked -- I was most associated with Wesley Crusher off of Star Trek. I wonder if that pairs me up with Legolas?

Well HI GoOwls.... Sooooo nice to "meet" you!
Got a few issues, don't ya, Darlin?? And how wrong you are, because I really am fantastic. Oh and that strange feeling is prolly just your meds wearing off. Maybe it's placebo day, huh?

Well, Captain Kirk, how's everything on the Starship Enterprise?
Nice kid....you and your fantasy existence/existences should go far in life.
Yep, I'm the one with issues. Got a great wife, 6 adult kids and none are in jail, 5 grandkids, with a bun in the oven, live in a nice neighborhood in a big old two-story house and have held the same great job to pay for all this for the last 22 years, and I've done it all without being a Trekkie, or a Wookie, or a Sugar Plum Fairy.
Reality check.....chick. :D

Son, if you want to be attacked, let's go PM on this.
I didn't attack, I gave a realistic perception of what I was reading, as opposed to the nonsense I was reading. I see so many people, every day, who can't stand themselves. Seeing young kids living a fantasy world troubles me. I only wrote what I did because I care about kids and where we are going as a society. There is too much fantasy and not enough reality in todays world. The kids will pay for it when they become adults. I've seen it happen and it's getting worse all the time. That, sir, is reality.

Problem with reality? hmmm... well okay. Not sure where you are gleaning this from, but whatever gets it for ya. (Oh, thanks for the "kid" remark, that one tickled me.)
Anywho... I'm done, as I'm sure other posters are as weary as I with it.

honestly we were playing along. I don't think anyone wishes they are yoda, frodo, or even Mel Kiper. It's no different than asking who your favorite RB, pitcher, goalie, ect is. If I wear a Roy Williams(the good one) jersey, it doesn't mean that I think I am #31 for the Cowboys. It simply shows that I am a fan.
I took it from the start that this was pretty lighthearted. something to break the monotony of NO football to watch of any kind.
Are you justifying your choices in life to yourself? because I really don't care about them. I have a great life myself, and share bits of it in posts on here when others are talking about their lives, but I don't publicize them to put down others. Maybe the other poster isn't interested in the 2.5 kids and a 2 story house in a good neighborhood. You're making a huge assumption that everyone would think your life is as great as you think it is, or that your life is the standard by which happy people should measure theirs.
By saying my personality traits resemble those of a fictitious character is hardly a social flaw, and nary a threat. If you're going to tell everyone else theirs don't matter, or are stupid. you sir, are the one with the real issues.
LIGHTEN UP!

Look, it's just that I see tons of people every day who are miserable and failures, buy most anyones standards. They got there a myriad of ways, but a common denominator is distractions. I just worry about the distractions that silently peril todays youth, killing their souls slowly like a creeping cancer. In the 22 years on my job at the same place, some of the kids who were babies when I started now are raising their own families, with varying levels of success. Some of them are dead. Some might as well be. In each case there are constants that seperate the successful from the tragedys. This subject matter just troubled me as I see the whole subjuct as part of the more tragic side of my experiences. Yes, I'm certain that most of you can deal with the differences between reality and the sometimes blurring lines of fantasy. I just wanted to let someone know that someone cares enought to warn them to not let that line blurr.

distractions like anything are good in moderation, but will sink you if they become obssessive.IMO they help us deal with the "realities" in life. i agree you must keep your eye on the ball, but you gotta have some fun along the way.

Most of the kids and young adults I talk to, if you aren't confrontational and a bit of a smarta$$ with them, they see you as weak and don't pay any mind to you. You have to talk at their level (I guess that helps me trashtalking during football season on here:D ). I just typed earlier as I would have spoken to them. Obviously something was lost in the translation and an inability to see my face while I spoke. However, it may just be that the kids on here don't have the problems that the kids I speak of have, and I hope they never do.
