You forgot the option to vote:
Smart enough not to play football :D

I didn't play in school, but do have a couple of crooked fingers from playing in a men's flag league. Not to mention got wrist broken twice, thumb once. Can get hurt even in a "non-contact" form of football.

I suffered a neck stinger (felt like I had been struck by lightning), and suffered a "contused and sprained knee"...nagged me for 30 years, then one day it locked up and felt like it had a knife sticking in it. Had it arthroscoped. Turns out I had been carrying a torn meniscus all those years. Doctor fished out a chip of bone about the size of a lima bean, that caused the painful joint lockup. Ten years after surgery knee works good as new.:D

My oldest son who is now a professional musician, plays electric bass and does a lot of live stage and studio work (uses his fingers), had both of his pinkie fingers broken and smashed several times. He played center and had a BAD habit:eek: of grasping facemasks, getting his fingers caught in defensive linemens cages and sometimes just getting them mashed between face masks. His pinkies are still crooked today but it doesn't seem to affect his chosen line of work.

Let's see where do I begin. Well the worst injury I ever had was a dislocated kneecap. Knee is sometimes sore if it is left in same position too long.

No effects of all of the helmet to helmet contact I took. Those revolution helmets really are amazing. I was forced to leave one game due to a helmet to helmet hit. I wanted to go back in but doc took my helmet away from me. In many other games I got up from collisions feeling a little dazed. No effects of this right now but I am only a year removed from playing football so later on in life this might effect me.

My ankles were a mess. I would turn one here and another there. Used to get my ankles taped everyday to protect them and to keep the swelling down when they were hurt. Then I started wearing ankle braces and didn't have a problem with them again except for some soreness.

Hurt my back my senior year. Missed a whole week of practice. My back is constantly sore especially if I sit in weird positions. However, my family does have a history of bad backs.

My ankles are trashed. Too many sprains in High School. I had 1 ankle that was reconstructed just a few years back. Doc said I was lucky that I hadn't broken it by now. It's good to go now.
