After Realignment who do you believe has the toughest district in the state (5A of course)?

8-5A certainly has that potential. If nothing else, it is surely the largest district in the state in terms of total enrollment! The schools sizes in 8-5A are truly :Censor: insane.

My early candidates are 8,11,13,15,16. I'm going with 8-5A and 16-5A tie followed by 11 and 15.

I'd have to agree with this, but I would give 16 the slight edge. Just my opinion.

15? Really? As a member of 15-5A, I have to disagree. Westlake, definitely. Bowie...to an extent, yes. But who else?

Are you thinking of the old 15-5A with the Cypress schools?

19-5A deserves some respect
Katy - State finalist
Cinco Ranch - State Semi-finalist
Memorial - Region Semi-finalist
Katy Taylor - Region Semi-Finalist 2008 and disappointment of 2009 playoffs
Strake Jesuit - had some good years, down year last year but lots of young talent
7 Lakes - up and coming school

Maybe not the best but 4 of the teams have made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs or further in the last 2 years...

I'm going with the 115 and 135 as tier one and the 85 and 165 as tier two.

Maybe not the toughest, but extremely competitive - 13-5A.

8-5A is going to be a beast this coming season. I think come the end of district play next year, any of the top 6 teams will be very worthy playoff teams.

My initial impressions for strongest districts:

R1- 8-5A
R2- 13-5A/11-5A
R3- 17-5A/24-5A
R4- 26-5A

3-5A is going to be another exciting one in R1. 8-5A packs the biggest punch.

I picked 13-5A in R2 because it is top to bottom competitive, and has more teams than 11-5A. 13-5A has been more successful in the playoffs than most probably realize.

17 and 24 are competitive up and down. 24-5A adds Pearland to an already competitive line-up.

265 and 255 are the top two choices in R4 followed by 27.

KT says "strongest district"

thread title is toughest district

While I think 8 will be the strongest as far as deep playoff runs out Reg 1, I think 6 will be the toughest to get out of as 7 of the 9 teams were 08 playoff teams. 10 of the DMN top 50 will play in this district. The reigning D1 Champ is reloaded and resides here.

After Realignment who do you believe has the toughest district in the state (5A of course)?
(1) 8-5A has 3 of the largest schools in the state in an eight team competitive
district.
(2) 11-5A (a six team district) has 4 teams with the toughest predistrict schedule in
the state, as well as a competive district.

Predistrict has no implications on the district. But I do agree that 11-5A has some solid competition.

Toughest inter-district play (because they can be all weak, average, etc.)or total amount of good teams?

When has the DMN ever had a top 50?

The 8-5A will be tough to get through too, 6 of the 8 were playoff teams and Hebron was very close to being a playoff team a year ago. Marcus, Flower Mound, Hebron, East, Plano and Allen will all field very competitive and good teams and 2 of those are going to be staying home. This district really will have no gimmies with the exception of 1 team.

I'm going with the 115 and 135 as tier one and the 85 and 165 as tier two.

8 is by the most difficult then 11 after that it is a crap shoot but those two are the most stout and my reasoning is that 8 simply has more talented teams whereas 11 has 3, albeit 3 very very good teams.
