wow..... I don't like waco but i surely do hope waco smacks them, all i can get out of those mumbling idiots in ennis is we beat waco by 1 game so were better? SLC was a 4a team that won it all in 5a on serval occasions so 4a teams are better than 5a, and they still think they're better than every one else in the state of texas.... that's ennis for you.

Corsicana and Waxahachie both struggled with University and Midway. Midway tore up Waxahachie last year in the playoffs....University has beat Corsicana for awhile now.

That is all the judging barometer that I need..........

2005, Garland 24-Ennis 20. Garland took a knee three times on the Ennis 1 Yard line to end the game. I believe that was the first game Ennis had lost at lion stadium. Garland RB Donte Sloan had 300+ yards.

Yeah that was another one I presented to them....

Cove beating Garland in the playoffs......and Waco taking Cove to 3 OT's....they didn't want to hear it.

yea rub it in there faces that garland beat them and all you get is from them, But garland is a supremely good program i mean im shocked they haven't wont state in a while is what they will tell you... Well there are alot of "supremely good programs" in 5a that haven't won it all or haven't in a while

Too early for the smack talk right now for us Cove fans. I see we have lined up some pretty good teams in 5A to start the non district off with and i like that. I do not see us getting through the non district schedule unbeaten but i think this may help the program.

There are some uncertanties this year and those mainly have to do with the QB duties. If we can get a good one then i will not be worried but i do have reservations on what i seen last year as our second and third string QB's.

If they are lucky and we can meet up then the smack talking can begin. All three teams have a long way to go so they are the least of my focus right now.

Time to get ready to do the fan thing for the next several months and build up the Bells and other noise makers that make the Cove fans so noisy.

Ennis owns the series between Ennis & Waco High 3-2. They last met in 1979.


This made me laugh out load. Its not considered owning a team when you have a 3-2 series lead on them, and i wouldnt say that Ennis is in the back of Waco's mind when the last time they met was 1979. I guess they gotta find something.

I believe that Cove is losing more talent than they can replace.This will be the first time in over ten years that Cove will start a new QB and RB in the same backfield.They lost all LB's,1/2 of their secondary and all but one starting DL.They have pathetic rec. returning and only one OL.A plus is that the kicker is returning.Buckram,Acthinson, and Garner will not be replaced.I predict they will go 500.If they had stayed 5-A, they I would say 3-7.

Go ahead and bash Cove all you want. We have Jerard Milsap comin back as RB who gained about 600 rushing behind Buckrams 1500+. Griffin will be good once he gets the jitters gone. The DLine will be good with Craig Wood and 13-5a newcomer of the year Steven Welch up front on defense. Ya we return one Olinemen and our tight end, but isnt it the question every year, Will Cove have an OLine?... Hawk is returning at wideout, and you can talk all the crap about him droppin a couple of passes but he is one of the highest rated wideouts returning. Goins and Leary will take care of the secondary all by themselves. I think we will be alright, pretty easy non-district(go ahead and harp) but I say 9-1 with the lone loss to Waco

I was very impressed with Cove at the Lufkin game in Waco last year. Very talented. very disciplined, and had a great crowd. That district overall is going to be very explosive and exciting. I don't see any 1 program dominating.

HA!!!!Ask around? I dont have to ask for nothing. My brother is a starting DL. He came home the other day and said Griffin is the QB and Brock is stayin at TE. Milsap was a running back last year. Get it right!!! and the kickers name is Kyle Mathews.

Not to sound negative but i am not impressed with Griffin at the QB position. He seamed scared to take a hit and had a hard time holding on to the ball. He worries me at QB.
Hawk m ay get a lot of praise but either i did not pay attention and i missed all the balls he caught or something cause every time i see him he is dropping them. I did see a few that impressed me but he has to hang on to the ball and bring it in and go.
Kind of like the great catch, long run and big fumble just before he crossed the goal line, OUCHHHHHHHHHHH.

I am confident that Cove will do well next season and if all goes good the next two years when we jump back up to 5A we will be ready again.

By the way, waco will be much improved over last year but i think we will take em.

after seening waco last year, I wish they were still 5a as well. It would have made 13-5a a better district. you gotta play tough opponents in the regular season or you won't be ready for the playoffs... waco and cove ought to be a great game. If ACM has a bye week that week, I'll be there.

aCm won't have a bye week....it's the last game of the season (first week of November) fitting because the district championship could come down to that last game of the year. Will make it alot bigger....and the game is in Cove.
