I KNOW, I KNOW, im from the Valley and we will NEVER get to play SLC, but i am a Texan and with them playing Evangel Christian next season i NEED TO SHOW THE DRAGONS SOME LOVE!!!!!!
My question, with Smiter, Fentriss, Jacobson and Renfro ALL GRADUATING....who will take over!?!!?! i know the Dragons ALLWAYS RELOAD, but thats an AWFULL LOT TO LOSE!!!!! I realize that Blake Cantu transferred in to remedy some of the problem but he's only 1 person......so who is on the list to make an impact on the OTHER SIDE of Blake??

arius will go back to cb. there will be lots of skill positions up for grabs. it is too early to tell about the starters. lets wait til after spring and 7on7.

Is it safe to say that the 4 starters will probably come from a pool of Cantu, Ford, Blake Tomlin, C. Rucci, Gray, and maybe Kyle Padron or Josh Rake? Anyone else in the mix early?

I thought so, but I saw someone else on the forum throw his name out there as a possibility.

Both of the fords can run and catch the ball. If SLC is hurting that bad a rec (I dont think they will be) then I sure could see both of them, or one of them playing both ways. Just a thought.

you have seen the last player for slc play both ways. too much to learn and too physically stressing to thrive doing that.

I certainly won't make the mistake and say you'll see a major drop-off in skill/talent. But, I still say McElroy's deep ball is probably the best you'll see in a decade. Not so much with McKay - but he made Fentress and Smiter appear to be all-world with his mid to deep ball. Of course, one of Evan's deep balls against us was thrown by Riley:confused: -- doesn't bode well for next year.

We don't know everything about Riley yet but we do know he can throw the touch pass..I saw him several times at a full sprint roll-out, pull up and put a perfect touch over the LB about 20 - 30 yards downfield and hit the receiver full stride..that, I believe is in the genes...

Riley took a pretty nasty pop on that play too - and hopped right back up - he's tough.
