If you download Mozilla Firefox, which is an internet browser (like Internet Explorer) it has a built in spell checker. I downloaded it recently and I like it a lot. I think it is layed out better than Internet Explorer.
I was just wondering if anyone else has Firefox, and if so, what is your opinion on its quality compared to Internet Explorer?

My neighbor has it and says he'll never go back to IE.

I downloaded Firefox about a year and a half ago after I read an article about it. It's great.
IE hasn't upgraded their interface in a while, and it's extremely buggy. To me, Firefox runs much smoother and I'm not worried about crashing out of it. I've never crashed out of Firefox.
It's a free download and well worth it in my opinion.

I have both, and have used both and Firefox is the way to go... Its less buggy, they actually fix the security holes. Overall safer web browser and worth the download.

It's far less buggy and it has extensions like StumbleUpon.

I have been using Firefox for over a year now and I can't imagine using anything else. Pop-ups are virtually gone. Plus, I love the tabs and the search box in the top right hand corner is the source of my superior intellect.

Firefox is pretty well hidden, not many people realize there is an alternative for IE. It is much better, and I love the search engine box at the top right. It makes things so easy. I have known about it but I have AOL so I don't use IE anyways. My friend told me how nice it was so I decided to share the knowledge with people on here.

it's not as hidden as you think. only people like parents...who still have internet training wheels, don't know about it, but i showed it to my mom and she loves it.
tabbed browsing is worth the price of admission itself.
the only problem is the memory leak, if you leave firefox open for a long time, it hogs up your memory

I use both Mozilla firefox and IE. I use IE as my base system just because I'm older and the familiarity is comfortable to me. I don't do much but email, ebay, and hit a few sites with IE, so I don't have many problems with it. I use Firefox for in-depth searches. IE's searches are far less in depth and you can find much more info on Firefox. I guess you can tell that I'm not too technical with my internet uses, so I guess that's why IE works for me, but I wouldn't hesitate to switch permanently to Firefox if IE starts giving me too many problems.

I was told you have better protection from being hacked by using fox.
all i know is in high school you could get to certin sites that you could not get to using IE with mozilla because of the school blocking them

I don't have any problems with IE and I am still using it but I do know that Firefox is a safer web (using System Mechanic 6, ZoneAlarm Pro, Bitdefender 9 and Ad-ware 6 Personal). Not 1 problem I got with IE.

I'm using firefox too. I still use AOL sometimes too. My computer and my internet are fast, plus I have firefox. When I goto school with their slow cpu's, internet service that has 100 too many cpus on it, and IE, it breaks my heart.

LOL, the new Judson computers don't even have a disc drive. No floppy drive oh but they have internal speakers. HAHAHA the only way to save data at home and use it there or vice versa is with one of those portable hard drive things. (USB deals)

Same here. Brand new Dells. do you have those little ones that have no Disc Drive? We have 1-2 computers per classroom, and we have a LOT of computer labs. There are a few BCIS classes, other Tech classes. We have 3 computers in the training room and every coach has a computer. The librarys both have a lot of computers. IDK how many computers total, but I would guess over 500.

You mean ZIP Drive? I don't think we have one either. I hate any type of school's computer because they have filters where it blocks games and music and all that crap. By the way, School's computer are really annoying no matter which computer it is.

Our new computers have no ZIP, no Floppy, and no CD Drive.
Our schools filter makes me angry. It blocks absolutely everything that has nothing to do with school. If they ever block 5atexasfootball.com i will blow a gasket.
