The ACM powerlifting team has been winning meets this year.

How many of you relate a strong powerlifting program to football success?

Well... Powerlifting don't run fast enough which is normal because they are too big and alittle bit of fat what I have seen in the past. I don't know anything about Tyler Lee or John Tyler powerlifting program.

The AMC powerlifters are strong and exceptionally quick/fast...in addition, most of AMC's powerlifters have outstanding vertical jumps.

Ussually a teams track program corresponds better with the success of the football team

I'm of the opinion that being good in powerlifting, more times than not, is a direct result of being a good all around athlete. In the upper weight classes this may not hold true, but for most classes it does

From what I have heard from some of the power lifters from our school is that ACM is CRAZY at powerlifting and are always consistent with their strong lifters there is never any gaps between the years.

Quincy Daniels running back from belton is amazing at powerlifting after reading his lifts in the newspaper i though it was a misprint weighing 173 he bench pressed 280 squated 610 and dead lifted 640 riduculous if you ask me. there is no reason for someone this strong to not have a scholarship somewhere beside d3 umhb

Quincy Daniels had the opportunity to play football at Cornell, but decided that was too far and chose UMHB.

I don't think powerlifting or not powerlifting makes or breaks a program. Powerlifting has been an integral part of Abilene High's program and has been a big part of the success that the Eagles have enjoyed over the past 5-7 years. I think it has helped Abilene compete with the smaller, strong, athletic offensive and defensive lines that they have had.

To me it just gives the kids a format to compete in what would otherwise be a good weight, strength and conditioning program. I don't know for sure but I would venture a guess that most schools that have good teams consistently have good strength and conditioning programs. JMHO.

Katy has never had a good track team. They're known to have a pretty good football team I've heard.

Judson Has Won Like 16 Straight Regional Champioships And They Do Ok In Football. Go To The State Track Meet And You Will See Alot Of Programs Their That Have Been Consistent At Winning In Football For A Long Time. Speed Kills, Especially If It Is Well Coached Speed.
