I still have not heard back from Formus. I've sent him a couple of emails and am waiting on his reply. That's all I can tell you guys right now.

Well, I will say the obvious! We miss it terribly and can't wait for it's return. Is he trying to restore the old board and save all the histories? If not, maybe a fresh new board would be the easier way to go.
(Not an expert and have no idea how to set up a board, so feel free to ignore my suggestions. :D )

That is what I was wondering as well, Katt. But like you I'm no expert, so I never mentioned it. LOL

A fresh new board may be what we are forced to do. But, fret not. We WILL have a board, one way or the other. I just don't know which way, yet.

I never really realized how much I would look forward to reading that board everyday. It really helped me know what was going on at all the schools and now I feel like a blind man.:(

Maybe a drying out period is what we needed. I'm sure there will be plenty that will fall off the wagon if or when it gets back up and running.

You know mojo61, I had to think about this for awhile. You know you are an ole Mojo person and you live in Abilene! That right there is two strikes against ya! :p ;)
Jus Kiddin - of course, you will be allowed back on the board.
And 1DF, you are right, we won't get so lucky for several of those goobers to not find the board after it's back up, but it doesn't hurt to dream. haa haa

jtk... You know there is no way you can resist coming back.
Once it's back up, you'll stay away a few days. Then you'll start just viewing the posts and laughing from your lofty point of observer. THEN some moron will post something so completey and utterly blasphemus you won't be able to control your impulse to shred their twisted little mind. I can see it all now.
Just one request.... if I happen to be the moron, cut me some slack! :D hehehe!!!

I resemble that remark. Cooper kicks a dead last in district next year and when they drop to 4A the kick a dead last in the same district as San Angelo Lakeview.

I will observe for sure and I'm sure laughter will follow, but I have found a new full time job in bashing aggy and then trying to free wide after he gets banned for bashing aggy.

Once an Aggie, Sooner, or Red Raider fan comes in there firing away he'll be back & he will wipe em out & then I'll pull the Eric Gagné role & close em out. Since I usually wind up taking JTK's side it would only be fitting.

I am very serious about my LSWC.com days being over and it has nothing to do with the people or the board itself. What Formus has done with that site is amazing and he along with warlok, coriv, JOHNNYREB, MOJOMAN and mofo84 reside with the KT boys in the pantheon of moderating greatness... even warlok who banned me twice. :D
I'll be very, very honest with you guys... the passion I once had for high school football and the LSWC has hit an all time low and I blame, for the most part, the UIL. I know most of you were thrilled to get on your computers earlier this month to read that the LSWC would remain intact. I was on the opposite end of the spectrum. It was a very sad day for me that zapped all the energy I had left right out.
There was a time not too long ago when I was thrilled of the prospect of watching my Cougars play the likes of Lee and Permian. That thrill is gone. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Cooper isn't where it once was, or the fact that Permian and Lee aren't where they once were. More than likely, it has something to do with the fact that the district race means pretty much nothing now with the 4th playoff team. The district race is no longer a battle to see who can be the best and join a select few... it's now a battle to see who can suck the least. I'm sorry, but I have never cared less.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm still the rose colored glasses wearing, Cooper homer that I always have been. I'm excited about the Coogs and the new coach. I'm excited about some of the young players coming up. I'm looking forward to the Showdown and I'm sure there will be some pre-district games I will anticipate. I hope to catch some Spring practices and a possible Spring game and the Abilene 7 on 7 SQT is one of my favorite sporting events of the year and I hope I'm still in town to watch it. However, the district part of the season doesn't appeal to me in the least.
I suppose this was bound to happen. Cooper and the SWC in are in my past and with my brother's health at an all-time high, The University of Texas and the Big XII are in my future so that is where my interests have shifted. I suppose I may visit the college board over there from time to time and maybe the "other" board to keep track of area happenings, but my reasons for posting on the "3-5A Football" board are few.
It's an outstanding site run by outstanding people. I have spent the better part of 5 years and 20,000 posts going back and forth with some of the best people West Texas has to offer... including aggyDawg who I still hope to meet one day. I registered for that site and began posting as a joke, but it became a bit of a hobby (addiction might be the better word) and as I began to meet a lot of the people that post there, it became more like an extended family. I plan to visit from time to time to make sure all is in line.
BTW, mojo1fan/OP.com is my hero... long may he live!

I have to tell you guys, I've enjoyed the break. Of course, I've had a lot of mitigating circumstances, as of late, and I find myself missing the board. But, from an administration stand-point, I needed a break.
There are a couple of possibilities that I am considering as contigencies. I'll definitely keep you guys updated as things progress. But, for now, I truly appreciate KT permitting us to use his digs as a temporary home. Maybe this relationship can grow into something more permanent.
