Thats how it was in Lubbock last night. The wind was blowing from the north and thats the way my house faces so when the snow finally stopped the drift was almost to the front door.

Great shots of the campus. The wind was not as strong here but it was pretty scary getting to my mom's last night. People could not maneuver the hills.

Yes it was. Thursday night it was a little tough going down 407 but once we got to my mom's we enjoyed the heck out of it. :)

Christmas morning I was looking out at the golf course and a single coyote was walking down the middle of the fairway in the snow. Beautiful sight.

Snow almost ruined my holiday, or more specifically my kids. We leave church around 5PM, go to eat, leave there around 6PM and look at some Christmas lights.

It's pretty bad and we're headed back and get stopped on the way because of the weather, but it may open up. The drivers are alerady starting to drive slowly and there are a few cars in the ditches. They open it up and we get closer and are stopped again. Ask us where we live and say there is a wreck that far out and no go for us. We have to drive around.....( for those in the Flower PLex we had to go north to 407 then down 377 to get back to 1171). As we get a bit closer we can see a cop car about where our house is.

Get to our turn and the cop says, road is impassable and we can't go any where(took about 45 minutes to get here). About an hour later, going back the first way, we were succesful and pulled in shortly after 9PM. Woke up and saw four cars in the ditch outside our house.

I loved it once we got settled in for the night. They kept saying on the radio that 1171 was closed. Glad you were able to get home Thursday night.
It was beautiful as long as you were inside.

I don't have a problem driving in it. It's usually just me on the road and a few people in the ditch. Quite peaceful actually.

It's been snowing in Abilene since a little after nine this morning. There's about a quarter of an inch on the ground, but the streets are just wet as the temp is hovering right around freezing. It'll probably get slick late tonight and early in the morning. High forecast for the mid to upper 40s tomorrow.

I'm here...and so far nothing. The Snow God loves me. :D

I was in Victoria back in 2004 when it snowed on Xmas eve. I lived in San Antonio at the time and was driving home. As I got closer it started to fall harder. At first I thought it was dust from the road construction LOL. We got snow up to my knees and I couldn't move my car for a couple days. I'll admit it was fun, but by the 2nd day I was over it!

We had snowball fights and my nephew was beating the crap out of me. I told him it wasn't fair because he was the pitcher for the baseball team. Lol

That's why I can enjoy it because it is gone within 48 hours. The snow is on it's way. West Fort Worth right now. I don't think this one is going to stick except on the grass because it will be to warm. Just pretty to watch fall. :)

I could not live near Boston like my sister. The first snow does not leave until spring:eek:

they have revised the forecast. looks like the low at the airport will be 35 with little wind (5-10). so it shouldn't be a big issue here. the outlying areas may be a different story.
