Game stats Texas vs. Ohio St. (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=156844)

Take away the Illinois and Notre Dame games...and what do you have???
A guy that averages 49 yards per game receiving...
Billy Pittman averaged 77.4 yards:D

He's good...............but let's not forget.......SI and Herbstriet had him winning the Heisman last year>>>>>>>>
He had an average season.....Heisman winners don't have average seasons.
Well.....sometimes....

Yeah i didnt think he would win the heisman i did say he was one of the best players in the country and hes getting better every year. I dont think he will be a heisman canidate next year but he might....with Holmes gone he will get more looks but he will also see more double coverages.
Texas should be able to handle him, can the rest of the country?
Speaking of heisman will texas have any canidates next year? I figure Griffin will win the Thorpe award. And Robinson and Crowder will probably be up for some.

I will. He's not a good football player at all. He has outstanding speed. Maybe one of the fastest guys in the nation, but his skills are just bad. He's probably a natural CB being forced to play WR and that is the problem. His route running sucks and his hands are average at best. Ohio State fans will be the first to tell you this. What makes him good is that when he does get the ball in his hands, he is about as big of a threat as there is. That is why they get the ball to him in so many easy ways. A lot of screens, some reverses, quick passes, etc. He may improve, but he is just not a very good WR. He is out there most plays though because he is a home run threat on a team that isn't really loaded with homerun threats (especially with Holmes graduating).
I would take Ginn if he was offered to Texas, but he would do nothing but returns and I would try and coach him into the CB rotation which is where he belongs anyway. However, you have to wonder if he is a step up from what Texas already has returning kicks and punts. As a punt returner, Ginn averaged 10 yards a return. Aaron Ross averaged almost 15 yards a return for Texas. As a kick returner, Ginn averaged 29.6 yards per kick return. Ramonce Taylor averaged 29.4 yards per return for Texas. So, how would Ginn be an improvement over what Texas already has?
I agree that his speed is just sick and I love his athletic ability, but there is no way I would give up a Ramonce Taylor, Limas Sweed, Billy Pittman, Terrell Brown, Aaron Ross or Cedric Griffin for him. Ginn would provide nice depth though if he could join those guys.

Homeboy also needs to put on another 20 pounds. 175 pounds? He'll get his butt broken in the NFL. Indiana guys aren't exactly going to lay the wood on you like Donovin Darius or Roy Williams will.

Another reason why he isn't a WR.

last time i checked, this guy is a sophmore. he will improve. in a couple of years he'll be senior, and mark my words, he'll be the best wr in college. his hands will get better and so will his route running.

no doubt he will be a 1st round pick, but it will also because of other things, like ability to return punts, kicks, and his catching ability.

Props for what?
Being a very fast...yet very mediocre receiver?
Okay........I'll give him that much.
When he played against solid DB's...he had 2 catches for 9 yards...
I don't have to hate on him...his numbers do it for me.
And BTW.....my favorite Dallas Cowboy????????? Roy Williams...he's a Sooner...he played against Texas a time or two.

During my lifetime the most exciting #31 for the Dallas Cowboys was Brock Marion. Albeit I was just a little kid, but if my memory serves me correctly I remember him laying some people out pretty good.

Which is why I'm hoping Ginn will go ahead and go out next year so I can prove my point that he's not physically ready to play in the NFL. Those little silly passes he catches across the middle...yeah those won't happen. He'll lay his hands on that ball and immediately get knocked out so hard, he'll wake up in last years super bowl. 175?....AHAHAHAHA. Kiss your career goodbye when you face Roy.

Ed Reed maybe, but Sean Taylor???? What does he do? Bust a cap in the receivers running past him?
It isn't about Roy's coverage. It's about his ability to end careers. I've never seen a safety come down hill so fast.
